Ellington's POV

Today has officially been the longest, most painful day of my life.  Not only did I have to leave my pregnant wife in a house with crazy people that I don’t trust one bit, I had to work late because apparently I suck at my job.  Can’t they just fire me already?  I could be a waiter or something!

When we finally get home, I burst through the door to find Taylor’s brother, who I’ve renamed ‘the creepy guy’, sitting on the couch, watching tv with Alex.  The creepy guy gives me a suspicious glare before turning his head back to the tv.  Oh no, what did he do?

“Hey, where’s Rachel?” I ask nervously.

“She went on a walk with Taylor,” he smirks.

“What is he doing to her?” I blurt out.

“Making sure she’s ok.  I believe the right response is ‘thank you’,” he states.

“No.  Where is she really?  What is your brother doing to her?  Take me to her now!” I demand.

“Eli, what has gotten into you?” Cal snaps.

“His brother is trying to kidnap my wife!  I know it!” I state.

“How do you know it?” Cal growls.

“I just do, ok!  I know my wife and I know when something is wrong!” I state.

“Daddy, what’s going on?” Alex asks.

“I don’t know, son.  Go to your room.  We’ll figure this out,” Cal exclaims.  Alex runs out of the room and the creepy guy gets up and stands right next to me.

“I don’t know who you think you are, but you have no right to be rude to my family after we’ve generously offered to let you and your pregnant wife stay with us for no reason.  You could be living on the streets without us!” Cal yells.

“Maybe you should just go to your room.  You seem like you’ve had a hard day.  Rydel will be back soon,” Chase smiles.

“I am a grown man!  You cannot tell me to go to my room!” I shout.

“Wait a second, who is Rydel?” Cal asks.

“Oh, whatever her name is.  She’ll be back soon.  Maybe you should get out of here before you make more of a fool of yourself,” Chase advises.  With that, I storm off without an ounce of faith in Chase’s word.  If I’m gonna find Rydel, I have to do this myself.  But how?  On second thought, Rydel could be anywhere.  If I’m ever gonna figure this out, I’m gonna have to get Chase to talk.  But I don’t know how to do that either.  Oh screw it, if he thinks he can get away with stealing my woman, he is dead wrong!

I storm back out into the kitchen, noticing that Cal has left and now it’s just Chase.  I march right up to the couch where he is sitting and look down at him before angrily whispering, “I don’t know how you found us, or why you’re here, or why this is any of your business, but you need to tell me where Rydel is, or I’ll kick your ass!”

“Don’t you remember?  You told me everything.  All it took was a few punches to the face,” he smirks.  Oh crap.  I did tell him!  I told him the night I proposed to Rydel!  When he beat me up and I told Rydel I got mugged.  I forgot all about that?  But why am I just remembering now?  Is he really strong enough to cause short term memory loss?  I just thought he was upset that I was stealing her from his brother.  Dammit Ellington, are you really that weak that you can’t take a few punches to the face?

“If you think you can take me on, you must be joking.  I told you the consequences if you ran away, but you chose to ignore them.  You really think you can take on a man who set this whole thing up so you could fall into his trap?” he smirks.
