Rydel's POV

Betrayal is always difficult for everyone.  It comes as a shock for those who have been betrayed, and leaves the person who betrayed them with an undeniable sense of guilt.  After everything I went through with these people, my family, I left them to pursue my love.  I left all of these people who loved me for one person who loves me.  I knew running was a bad idea.  Seeing all of them cry over the feeling of betrayal I caused for them makes me cry too.  I bury my head into Ellington's shirt, hoping they'll all magically disappear somehow, but that's not the case.  I just have to accept that this is unfortunately reality.  Suddenly, Ellington gets up and approaches Riker.

"Look, I'm sorry about your tie, but is it really that big of a deal?  Aren't they like five bucks a piece?" he asks a teary Riker.

"What are you talking about?" Riker whimpers feebly.

"Nothing," Ellington blushes as he scrambles back over to me.

"Their trial is in a week.  Is there anything you would like to say to them?" a police officer asks.

"Um, yes actually," Ellington blurts out.

"I wasn't talking to you," the police officer growls.

"Well then," Ellington sneers sassily.

"Is there anything the family would like to say to the suspects?" the police officer asks.  They all shake their heads as we look at them with pleading eyes.

"Alright, then I will escort you back to the front office," he sighs with a sympathetic smile.

"Wait!  Can someone please tell us what's going on?" Ellington asks desperately.

"You're being brought to justice, that's what's going on!" Ross snaps.

"But what did we do?" Ellington yells.

"You know what you did!" Ross exclaims.

"No we don't!  Would you please enlighten us?" Ellington begs.

"You're a liar.  You're an evil, cold blooded liar and I never want to see you or my sister ever again!" Ross shouts as he is dragged out of our view, following everyone else.   The second he is gone, I run into Ellington's arms.

"What did we do?  Why are we here?  Ellington, get me out!" I cry as I bury my head into his chest.

"I don't know, baby, but I promise we'll be out of here in no time," he coos as he kisses the top of my head.  I cry into his chest as he continues to kiss my head, because that is all I can do right now.

"Excuse me, Mr. and Mrs. Ratliff, we are going to have to take you in for questioning now," a police officer says.  I poke my head out of Ellington's chest slowly as I turn to look at him.

"Mrs. Ratliff, can you please come with me?" the officer asks as he opens the door to let me out.

"She's not going anywhere without me," Ellington growls as he holds me tighter.

"Mr. Ratliff, we need to question the two of you separately, it's in everybody's best interest, so if you wouldn't mind letting the woman go," he sighs with a bit of annoyance.

"Actually I would mind," Ellington yells.

"Ellington, it's ok," I sigh as I fight my way out of his arms.  He watches me sadly as the officer locks the cell and guides me off to an office type place.

"Please have a seat," the officer instructs as he opens the door, revealing a small room with a friendly looking guy sitting in a chair.  I nervously take the seat across from him and I try to avoid eye contact.
