Rydel's POV

Five months.  Five more months, I should say.  Five more months and I will be a mother.  I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that there is life growing inside me.  It just started moving.  Well, it’s probably been moving this whole time, but now I can feel it.  It kind of makes me nauseous, but excited.  I rest a hand on my baby bump and stare at it.  That’s all I can get myself it do, since I’m so astonished.

And eat.  I can probably do that too.  I should do that too.  I’m starving.  I haul myself out of bed and put some toast in the toaster.  While waiting for it impatiently, I start to wonder why the house is so empty.  Usually there’s someone in here, either cooking, talking, watching tv, or something like that.

I get distracted when my toast pops out of the toaster.  I set it on a plate and get some butter out of the fridge.  When I’m finally done preparing it, I sink my teeth into it.  After a few bites, the baby begins to squirm again.

“What?  You don’t like toast?” I ask it.  Whatever, it doesn’t have to have toast when it’s born, but now, it can suck it up.  I finish my toast and make myself more toast, since this baby eats a lot.  Eventually, I have a pile of toast in front of me that I intend to finish.  I pick up another piece and stuff it into my mouth, since I’m alone and no one is here to judge me.

Just then, I hear the door slam open.  Dammit.  I bite off my piece of toast and wipe my mouth before spinning around looking right into Taylor’s eyes.  The Taylor’s eyes.  Wait, am I wearing my contacts?  Crap!  I need to be better about putting them on before I leave Ellington and my room!

“Good morning, Rachel,” Julie smiles as she enters the room.  “These are our cousins, Chase and Taylor.”  His creepy brother is here too? Oh no.  I watch as Chase and Cal enter the room.

“Hello,” I say, trying to swallow my toast and not cry at the same time.

“Rachel, can you please get your husband up?  We need to leave for work right now,” Cal says as he grabs his briefcase.  I nod quickly before rushing into the room and giving him a shove.  I ignore the fact that Ellington doesn’t flinch until I can get my contacts in.  Then, I rush back to him.

“Ell,” a I whisper nervously as I grab him and shake him.  He opens his eyes and look up at me groggily.

“Good morning, love,” he smiles as he sits up.

“Come with me,” I hiss as I grab his wrist and drag him out of the bed.

“What’s going on?” he yawns as I drag him down the hall.

“Remember how you said their cousin can’t be the same Taylor?” I whisper.

“Yeah,” he says as he rubs his eyes.

“Well you were wrong,” I state as I point at Taylor and his creepy brother, standing in the middle of the living room.  He instantly perks up as he wraps an arm around me and herds me back into our room.  Due to my four month pregnant hormones, I can’t stop myself from bursting into tears.

“What are we gonna do?” I wail as I follow Ellington into the bathroom.

“We’re gonna be Eli and Rachel and it’ll all be fine,” he assures me as he puts in his contacts.  I can tell neither of us believe a word he just said.

“I’m scared,” I whimper.

“It’s ok.  I’m gonna protect you,” he whispers in my ear as he wraps his arms around me and rests them on my swollen belly.  I close my eyes and allow myself to be engulfed by Ellington’s warmth.
