Okay! First off, sorry the chapter took so long to write! I hope it's good enough for your expectations... Second, it was late because it's the end of the school year. Everything is reaaalllllyyy hectic right now. I've been cramming to pass in homework and finishing work I haven't already done, on top of having a HUGE stack of books I still really want to finish! School is finishing tomorrow, FINALLY, so hopefully I'll be uploading a LOTTTT faster. Please tell me what you think of the chapter and I really hope it's long enough!

Chapter 14-
A FEW WEEKS LATER
I stared at myself in the mirror, running my fingers through my already straight, silky brown hair. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest and my stomach did small flips. I don’t know why I was nervous. Maybe it was because I haven’t talked to a peer for months. Maybe because I was new to this town, let alone the school.
I straightened out the wrinkles in my soft red sundress that brought out my glowing brown eyes. My cheeks looked pale, so I slapped them to make them have some color. I knew I looked crazy and when my mom walked into my room, she looked at me as if I lost my mind. “What are you doing?”
I laughed. “I’m trying to get some color into my face.” I said.
Mom laughed lightly. “Honey, it’s called makeup. Just don’t put on too much. School is for learning, it’s not a beauty pageant.”
“I know, I know.” I said as I put some blush on. Once I was done, my cheeks held some color. After, I got a pencil pouch and filled it with pens, a few markers, erasers and pencils. Then I got a few spiral bound notebooks and shoved everything into my backpack. “I’m ready!” I yelled, jogging down the stairs. I had fifteen minutes till school started and I wasn’t intending on being late to my classes on my first day.
The ride to the school was agonizing. I just wanted to get there and have this day over with. “Be good and don’t get in trouble.” Mom told me as I got out of the car.
“Don’t worry, I won’t.” I was surprised I heard her voice over the loud thumping of my heart.
When I started walking up the pathway to school, I allowed myself to look around. The school was very decent and nice looking. Outside was a grassy area and benches. There were big green trees that provided shade from the hot sun. I was glad when nobody looked at me differently. To them, I was just a regular student, all of us here on our first day of school. I wished I could stay outside and make some friends so I’d have people to help me around for the day, but I still had to get my schedule.
When I walked into the school, the marble floors shined brightly. Everything looked new, clean and well taken care of. In the office, there was a line of students who were also getting their schedule. I blew out a sigh of relief that I wasn’t the only new student for our senior year. When I finally got to front of the line, a petite woman smiled at me brightly.
I smiled back. “I’m new here, and I need to get a schedule.”
“Okay. What’s your name?” She asked, standing up from her chair and picking up a giant stack of folders. She placed them on the counter in front of me with a loud thump.
“Emily Jepsen.”
She looked through the huge stack before pulling a folder labeled ‘Emily Jepsen’ and handing me a few papers. “You’ll have to get these papers signed by a doctor, these signed by your parents.” She then handed me a slip. “Have all your teachers sign this and at the end of the day, give the slip back to the office.” After that she explained me my schedule, highlighting which routes I could use to get to my classes faster.
