Chapter 32

Callie’s Point of View

I am so happy that Brandon and I are fine. It was really hard, but then having him leave was almost worse than him being there in the house. Stef was really mad at us, of course! She actually is coming today. It was the first flight so she booked it so she can yell at us. I got really scared when she said that but Brandon and Mariana told me not to worry because she would just yell at them.

Today is Brandon and I’s day. Max and JJ are hanging out with Mari, because B doesn’t want her alone in NYC. He told me that we were doing something fun. I don’t know what it is, but I am just really excited to spend time with Brandon! I missed laughing and just talking to him. While we were apart we never talked! So now that I have it back, I realize how precious it is to me.

“Ready?” Brandon asks me as I walk out to him.

“Yup!” I take his hand and we walk downstairs to outside Mariana and I’s hotel. “So are you going to tell be where we are going?”

“Not just yet…” he smiles at me while he gets us a taxi. A yellow cab pulls up next to us and we get in. B tells the driver our address, but of corse I don’t know where it is. I take Brandon’s hand in mine as we sit there silently waiting to get to our destination.

When we finally get to our place and I step out as Brandon pays. I look around and we are at some concert hall. There isn’t really any people around.

“Where are we?” I ask when Brandon comes out of the cab.

“Follow me.” he grabs my hand and leads me inside these doors.

“Are we even suppose to be here?” I ask laughing a little.

“Yes we are!” We keep walking until we get to the stage. He walks to the middle of the stage and looks out into the audience. “I am going to play here at the end of the summer.” I walk up next to him. “The shows typically get sold out.”

“Well I can’t wait to see you up here! How about you sing for me, and I will go sit in the front row so you get the feel of someone watching you.” I suggest.

“I don’t have music.”

“It doesn’t matter.” He smiles at me as I climb off the stage and sit in the first seat. He takes a deep breath and starts singing.

This is the starting of my greatest fear

I’m all packed up, getting out of here

But then you call and tell me not to go

That I’m the one that put the rock n roll

In your life

This is the starting of a brand new day

Never liked this town much anyway

I need this city like I need the rain

I know that somewhere there’s a north bound train.
