Chapter 36

Stef’s Point of View

I felt so bad for Callie with everything that has happened! I am still shocked myself. I would never guess that her parents would do that! Coleen was an amazing women who really cared about her kids, she would never do something like that! I can’t stop thinking about how that is possible. I remember them calling when she was born. I got really excited because I wanted to see the baby, but we couldn’t go out to Texas because of work and money. So the first time I saw Callie was when they moved back from Texas, that was also the first time they met B.

I am sitting at the kitchen counter watching all the kids looking and playing with all the new things they got for Christmas when I hear the door bell ring. I stand up and walk towards the door.  I look at the couch and Brandon and Callie start waking up because of the bell. I get to the door and see a woman standing there.

“Hi, how may I help you?”

“Hi, sorry to bother you guys on Christmas but…is Callie Jacobs here?”

“Yes, what do you need?”

“She needs to come with me. Her biological parents would like her back, and since of the situation, she needs to go.” I can’t believe it. By then Lena is right behind me and all the kids are gathered behind us. “I need her to pack her things and I will take her to her parents.”

“Wait! You can’t just take her away from us!” Brandon says stepping up.

“Brand-“ Callie starts but her interrupts her.

“No! I am not going to let them take you when you don’t want to go! She wants to stay with the people she grew up with!” He tells the social worker.

“I am sorry but it’s the law, I can’t do anything to top it.” I can tell Brandon is being really protective over her and he won’t give up.

“Mariana, can you help Callie pack?”

“Yeah.” Mari and Callie turn to walk upstairs.

“Mom! You are just going to let her go!” Brandon yells.

“I am going to do everything in my power to get her back, but for now she is going with her so we don’t get arrested because this is holding her captive and that’s not the best thing to go to jail for.” He take a deep breath and turns around to go upstairs. This will be hard but I will make sure she is happy and safe.

Callie’s Point of View

I am a little shocked they are sending a social worker here to come take me away. I never expected this! Mariana and I are packing up my stuff in my room, which isn’t much, when Brandon walks in.

“I will give you guys a minute.” Mariana says then exits the room. I look at B and see he is upset about this whole thing. I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his abdomen and he pulls me closer to him.

“I am so sorry.” he whispers and I start to feel tears run down my face.

“You have no power over what is happening. I am just happy you are here for me.”

“I wouldn’t do any other thing. Let’s get you packed up.” he says even though I know he doesn’t want me to go.

We get all my stuff together and walk downstairs. I see everyone, except the social worker, is crying at least a little but, even Jesus. I give everyone a hug and say my goodbyes.
