Rey couldn't believe what she just heard. Her stomach turned, not because of what she was supposed to inherit, but of who was asking for her hand in marriage. This wasn't what she truly wanted, but to know more about the Kenobi origins. Sir Ren stepped in front of Rey, facing the Duke now. This surprised the former handmaiden seeing how he was almost shielding her from Plutt.

"The girl is not seeking marriage," Ren told the duke firmly. "We came here looking for something else."

Unkar raised a brow and gave Ren an unpleasant glare. "And who you are?"

"Let's just say I'm more powerful than any army combined around the world, including yours," Ren replied making Plutt's courtiers look at each other.

This enraged Plutt and ordered Ren and his men to leave Stewjon. "Leave this town immediately, together with your rogue men!"

Rey intervened and placed herself in the middle of the two men. "I can handle this," she said to Kylo.

"Rey... don't do anything stupid." He warned the brunette.

She bore her eyes into his wanting Ren to trust her. Turning to look back at Plutt, Rey took a decision. "I accept, sir. Your marriage proposal that is."

Everyone was shocked, except Hux who couldn't hide his smirk. He thought things were going great according to plan. This was just a setup from King Snoke. They needed Rey

Sir Ren took Rey by the arm and walked with her, away from the duke. He had an angry expression after what Rey had just done. "...Is that it? Marrying that... that bastard with the intention of becoming wealthy and known?"

She pulled her arm from his grasp, "No, but if I decline his proposal, you and your men will be in terrible danger."

"I..." He clenched his jawbone already feeling anger, "Seeing you beside him... will be unbearable."

He was right. Marrying another man without love was devastating and revolting, but Rey didn't have any other choice. That was her place and Kylo could face death because of an otherwise decision. She was a princess, after all, destined to rule Stewjon.  "Kylo, you've protected me a lot. Let me do the same now."

"My dear future wife," Unkar interrupted the moment, waiting for a response. "We cannot waste time now. Your legacy awaits you."

Thunder resonated and the skies began turning dark grey. The incoming rain threatened the small town and Hux was feeling impatient already. "Ren, we must move on! Forget the girl!"

"I don't need it," Ren said glancing at Rey's feminine features. "One thing for sure is that last night kiss proved how much you want me, Rey. You also long for my touch. It was real to both of us."

"...Kylo," she said before he finally backed away from her presence. Mounting his horse, Sir Ren glared at the duke for the last time. He then turned the horse around and galloped out of the small town followed by his men. Hux was the last one to follow and gave Rey an evil smirk. To the redhead general, this was a victory.

Plutt grabbed Rey's hand. Her eyes were watery and felt miserable after Kylo abandoned her. She wished at that moment to scream his name and make him come back. The girl couldn't hide the truth anymore. She loved Sir Kylo Ren. She loved the heir to Birren's throne and Queen Leia's son.

"Shall we go now?" Duke Unkar asked Rey who tried to hide her tears.
