Return of the Phoenix

Seventh Year: Reckoning

          Katherine was asked to meet Draco at Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade his face lit up when she walked through the door she sat down at a table he was at. The place was scarce given everything going on with Death Eaters searching for Harry she didn't know what to say so started with Hogwarts new term she said "Are you attending your last year at Hogwarts?" he said "I should to keep my sanity" a light joke given everything happening these few months she took his hands they were shaking so bad a nervous twitch she suppose but he calmed down she saw into his eyes a scared boy putting on a brave face to the world she said "You can tell me anything Draco I won't judge" he went on and on about everything he witnessed over the few months when he got all that off his chest he was worried that she would see him as a monster. Katherine collected herself she said "Draco.." they were greeted by two Death Eaters they were searching for Harry but saw him and her then went on their way Katherine was in dangerous waters but she had to know what to report to the order and this was her chance, her chance to bring Voldemort down. Draco watched the two leave and didn't see fear in Katherine's eyes he saw she too was being brave he said "I understand if you want to end this before it ever started, I would happily comply" she saw him willing to set aside a relationship for her safety something she thought she wouldn't ever see the Great Draco Malfoy do perhaps she is a good influence on him than she thought. Staring at him sitting there waiting for her to respond she said "Why should I run when we never got to go on a date? Or do anything like couples would do? I understand you wish for me to be safe by not being around you but there's no point in that given there's a war going on I'm not naive, Draco" he felt that she was right about not being naive she's never demonstrated that before in all the six years he's known her he said "We can have this moment as a date and hopefully at Hogwarts as well" she said "I'll hold you to it".

         Katherine reported her findings to Uncle Remus to the best she could while gathering her belongings to attend Hogwarts.  While on the Hogwarts Train with everyone else when it came to a stop allowing two Death Eaters searched the train for Harry Potter coming up emptied and recognized Katherine from earlier with Draco and left. Katherine had been left alone at Hogwarts because the Death Eaters knew Katherine was Draco's girlfriend or Snape told them to either way she was safe allowing her to move freely about to report to the order but she had a handle quite clever Phoenix. Katherine was hated by her Gryffindor roommates because they believe she betrayed them if only they knew the truth of her espionage. 

         Katherine was doing well in her studies but hated seeing first years tormented by upperclassmen she wanted to unleash the phoenix but couldn't so she went about her studies. She was asked to Snape's office she doing her best to appear content he said "Miss Katherine Black" she said "Snape" he said "You're still excelling in your studies despite everything" she said "Have to sir, after all there will be a reckoning and that will be more fun to see" he said "Dumbledore warned me of the phoenix but I must know who am I speaking to at the moment?" she said "Katherine Lily Black, sir" he said "Your mother unleashed the phoenix when your father was sent to Azkaban but mostly when Lily died" she said "Why her name lives on within me, sir". He said "I must know are you passing messages to them because if so you must stop" she said "Are you going to use veritaserum on me then sir." He saw that she was trying to bait him smirking like her mother Katerina he said "If you're anything like your mother you probably have an antidote to it as well, so word of caution I can't protect you from what's to come and the notion of you dating Draco won't either if he learns of your indiscretion am I clear?" she said "Crystal, sir".
