keaton's pov

"Are we there yet?" I asked, leaning forward and resting my elbows on the seats in front of me.

"You're acting like a child, Keaton, but we should be there any minute," Skylar told me. She had the address pulled up on her phone GPS as Drew turned down a dirt road. I had a nervous feeling in my stomach because we weren't in a town anymore, but in between towns rather.

I fell back, closing my eyes and imagining the worst. We were going to rescue Noelle from a killer basically and we didn't have a plan. What if we got there and she was already dead? I was beginning to feel like I was going to fail because I didn't walk her home that day. That had to be when it happened, I thought.

"We're here," Drew announced as he slowly pulled Wes' car up to a small cabin. He parked pretty far away and turned off the ignition. "So. What do we do?" he asked.

I thought for a moment, cotemplating our options. It was the middle of the night so there was a pretty good chance that the guy that took her would be sleeping and we could try to break in and find her. It was probably the best option to find her and get her out. Otherwise we were just going to sit out here and wonder how she was inside. I voice my idea and Drew and Skylar agree that we should try it.

"I'll stand outside the cabin and wait," Drew said. "I don't think we should all go in. We would make way too much noise."

I nodded. "Good idea. You ready for this Skye?"

She bit her lip and I could see the fear in her eyes. "No, but I have to be."

Drew put his hand behind her head, pulling her face to his. He connected their lips in a sweet kiss, causing me to look away so they could have their moment. "You can do this, babe. I'll be right out here waiting for you. Go in there and find her, ok?"

We got out of the car and walked the distance to the cabin quietly, afraid to make any noise. It was dark, the only light being made by the almost full moon above us in the clear night sky. When we reached the door, Skylar and I looked at each other not sure what to do. There was a silent tension between us, neither of us wanting to try opening the door.

"You do it! You're the boy!" she urged in a hushed voice.

I shook my head at her comment, but let it go. I hesitantly reached out my hand, and tried the door handle. It twisted easily in my hand. It was open.

"Don't just stand there, idiot," Skylar said, pushing past me.

"You need to be quiet," I reminded her as my shock of the door being unlocked wore off.

I left the door open behind me as not to make anymore unnecessary noise. I followed close behind Skylar as we tip toed around the cabin, trying to figure out where he would keep Noelle. We peered into a few rooms, but only found the bathroom, the living room and the kitchen.

"Down here," she whispered, pointing to a hallway. I nodded and we started to walk down it. One of the rooms had a door that was slightly ajar which seemed suspicous. I walked ahead of Skylar and pushed the door open slowly, trying to avoid any creaking. My breath caught as I walked farther into the room, noticing that the bed was empty.

"She's not in here," I whispered to Skylar. "Where could she be?"

noelle's pov

"Ready to keep going? Think you can walk this time?" Jake was asking me, but I was too focused on the car that had just passed. "Noelle? Are you listening?" He waved a hand in front of my face, but again my eyes were glued to the road even though the car was long gone by now. Jake grabbed the water bottle I was still holding out of my hands and twisted the cap back on. "Hey," he started, twisting my body towards his. "Are you alright? I know this past week or whatever has been hard, but we gotta get going, ok?"

I turned my head away from Jake's intense stare to look back at the road, illuminated by the bright street light. "It was them," I whispered.

"Noelle, seriously. We've got to get out of here since we're only on foot. It's like 4:30 and Ian wakes up at 6 and he's gonna realize real quick that we're gone."

I shook my head. "We need to go back." I wasn't sure how I knew that it was Wes' car that had gone by, but I knew that Keaton wouldn't go on without looking for me and now I couldn't leave with him at that cabin.

"Why the hell would we go back? He wants to kill you!"

"Keaton. Skylar," I spit out, my mouth becoming dry once again.

He twisted off the cap of the water, giving it back to me and I gulp the rest of it down. "Why would they be here, Noelle?"

"They drove by," I replied, pointing at the road.

Jake shook his head. "It's too risky. I'm not taking you back there."

I crossed my arms over my chest. "You have to! I'm not letting Ian kill my boyfriend and best friend. You took me out of there and now you're going to take me back!" I demanded.

"He's not going to kill them. He only wants to kill you," Jake rolled his eyes.

"Do not roll your eyes at me. And you have no way of knowing that! If you won't take me back, I'll find my way back there!" I stood up from the curb, still feeling a little disoriented. I walked out to the street, not looking back to see if Jake was following me.
