Chapter 28: Freezing Consuming (Part I)

Moana shivered as if there was an earthquake throughout her body. Cold droplets of sweats ran down from different parts of her body. Her top and bottom teeth and jaws clattered against each other repeatedly. Her skin ached all over. Even though Pua wanted to warmly nuzzle her, her body refused as they were painful by each contact. She was also coughing nonstop, which made her throat and lungs sting and dry. Her lips were chap and white. She barely had any strength to open her eyes. She also felt like vomiting again. 

"I think you have a body ache, princess," Maui said.

"N-no... I c-c-can't have a b-b-body ache," Moana stuttered weakly. "We h-have t-tt-ttt-to h-he-help th-the-the-th-th-them..."

"Well, not like that, kid," Maui said. "I'm not letting you fight any monsters until you're feeling well. We'll rest on the next island... Hangaeke... which is where we're supposed to go next."

"G-g-gg-good-dd," Moana shivered. "W-w-we c-c-cc-can-"

"No, we are not fighting anyone until you're feeling better," Maui said.

"Awhhwhwhw," Moana shivered. "C-cc-c-come o-oo-o-o-o-onnn..."

"No, no," Maui said. "Stop being so stubborn. You can't fight anyone properly with the condition you are in right now."

"Oh-h-k-kkay," Moana's shivering started to become even more aggressive.

"Oh boy," Maui said as he noticed her shivering became even more aggressive. He tried to find something that would warm her. He found nothing but small piece of cloth. He used that at least to wipe the cold sweat off of Moana. Her breath was pretty feeble. She was barely able to open her eyes. "What a nasty fever..." Maui said as he continued to wipe the cold sweat off of Moana. "Oh yeah, the boat!" Maui totally lost track and reached the sail to get back on track, but Pua was controlling the direction. He watched Moana and Maui control the boat all the time that he learned just the basics of controlling the direction. "Wow, Pugley, you're pretty smart!" Maui said as he rubbed his head.

"Oink!" Pua squealed proudly.

"Why don't you watch over Moana? I'll take it from here," Maui said. He switched direction so that he can stop by next island, Hangaeke. "We need to find a doctor around here... wow, this island is pretty cold!" After he secured the boat, he carried Moana on his back, Heihei on his left arm, and Pua on his right arm. "Hang in there, Moana..." He ran around to find a doctor as his breath creating a fog in the cold weather. Everyone was wearing warm clothes such as fur coat, thick leather, and gloves and boots. "Hello?! Hello?! Is anybody here a doctor?!" Maui ran around and announced. 

"Over here! Over here!" A man announced back as he exited the wooden house. He had short white hair and short white goatee. 

Maui quickly ran towards the house and abruptly went inside. "Please, look over her," Maui pleaded.

"Of course," the man replied. "My name is Takuta, the doctor of this whole village. Please have her lie on the sheet over there and cover her with a blanket. I'll set up the fire and warm water. You must be cold also."

"Thank you," Maui thanked and did as he was told. He gently had Moana lie down on the sheet and carefully covered her body with blanket. 

Takuta brought a pot with warm fire and pot of boiling water. He dipped a small towel in the water, carefully squeezed the water out, and used the wet towel to wipe the sweat off of Moana and to place it on her forehead. "That should warm her up," Takuta said. Then he mixed some water and herbal powder in a small bowl, and had Moana drink it. "That would do the trick. Her fever is unbearably high and her body ache is undeniably horrible. This is why you people shouldn't be dressed like this."
