"Aw, Moana, come on, why do you want to keep it a secret?" Maui asked, a little, no, very whiningly.
"I really don't want anyone to know," Moana said, a little unconfident, "it would be weird if a mortal is dating a demigod."
"But it happened a lot in Greek mythology!" Maui begged.
"That's mythology, this is real life!" Moana insisted
"Come on, Moana. It'll be okay," Maui begged her smoothly.
"Maybe just not now," Moana said to Maui, "when the time comes, we'll come out."
"Well, then. I guess I'll wait," Maui said with a little disappointment.
"Oh, come on, it's not like I'm saying that I won't date you," Moana wrapped her arms around Maui's arm and leaned on his shoulder. Maui caressed her head, which made her feel much better. They both breathed in and out deeply at a same time as the full silver moon shined upon them. Moana stood up. "Why don't we head on down now? Mom and dad might be worried about me." She started to walk down.
"Wanna get down faster?" Maui asked.
"How?" Moana turned to him.
"Well, not faster, but more enjoyable, I guess," Maui suggested.
"Yeah? But how?" Moana asked again.
"Cheeeehoooo!!" He transformed into the hawk and let Moana hop on his back. Moana got onto his back and held him tight. "Make sure you hang on tight, princess."
"I told you I'm not a prin-CEEEE!" Before Moana finished her sentence, Maui took off in a high speed. As he glided through the sky, Moana looked down. She was amazed by the bird's-eye view. She whooped and laughed in amazement. As her excitement rose, Maui ascended really high up in the sky. Moana held held onto her headband as Maui flew in circles. She has never seen her island from high up in the sky. "Wow, so that's how the island was shaped." Maui descended a little bit and flew around the high mountain, giving her the sight of every little things that were in the woods. "Wow! I've never really looked deeply inside the woods before!" Maui descended a little bit more. They were a bit above the ground. While rotating around the island, the fireflies followed her. She became even more amused when few of them landed on her hand. Lastly, he flew around the ocean. She put her hand in the ocean, and let it split the waves as Maui glided above the ocean.
Moana felt so relieved by the extreme speed, extreme height, and cool air.
"All right, let's go home now." Maui soared high up in the sky, and glided down in an angle. The wind splashed her face as Maui descended in a high speed. Just before he hit the ground, he stopped and landed smoothly.
"Whoo! That was fun!" Moana exclaimed, still stunned by the flight.
Maui transformed back into normal form, "It is pretty fu- whoa!" When he turned to Moana, her hair stood up in an angle. He tried not to laugh.
"Maui, is something wrong?" She asked.
"No no no, not at all," Maui replied, still holding his laugh in. His cheeks were bloated and his lips were tightened, trying not to laugh
"You seem very distracted, it's like you looked at," she reached to play with her hair that would be dangling on her shoulder, but she didn't feel anything. She slowly felt her head. "AH! What happened to my hair?!" She screamed as she felt something inches above her head.
"I guess it happened when I glided down so fast," Maui said quickly so that he can hold his laugh in longer. But he couldn't help it. "BWAH-HAHAHAHA!" He bursted out.
"You did it on purpose! Didn't you?" Moana asked, a little angrily.
"Well, you were having fun, so I wanted to give you one last excitement before we finished," Maui said as he stopped laughing. "Never knew hair was gonna be..." Maui's voice stopped. He couldn't help but snort when he looked at her hair again.
"Stop laughing!" she touched her head to organize her hair a little. Although her hair was all down, her hair was still all over the place. Then she noticed that the headband was missing. "What happened to the headband you gave me?" She carefully touched around head, but she couldn't feel any flower on her head.
"I can make you another one," Maui said to not make her worry. Just then, the headband landed on Maui's head. "Huh? Oh, here it is." He pointed at it as it landed perfectly on the top of his head.
"I think you should keep it," Moana giggled. They continued to look at each other, seeing how absurd they look. Then they both laughed hysterically. "Oh, we look so ridiculous!" She organized her hair so that it was straight down instead of sticking out all over the place, and Maui took off the headband. When she was done organizing her hair, Maui placed the headband on her.
"It suits you better, chief." Maui smirked. Moana smiled back.
"Well, I gotta go to sleep," Moana yawned, "Chief of Morunui has a lot of stuff to take care of. You know, like kissing babies and things. Good night see you tomorrow." She said as she went back into her cottage. Maui watched her go back in and headed to his hammock.
He sighed deeply as he lied on his hammock. Mini Maui clapped and gave him a thumbs up. "Thanks, buddy."
********
Moana woke up early the next morning to get prepared for her morning routine. As a chief, it is her duty to wake up early to patrol around the village to ensure that everyone is safe and healthy. While she was making sure that everything in village was clean and safe, she noticed Maui sleeping on a hammock. She looked around and noticed that no one was really paying attention to her. So she quietly tiptoed to Maui as he snored. Oh, he is so handsome. She thought as she watched Maui. Despite the fact that he looked so attractive, she decided to play a little prank on him. She picked some small flowers, made one flower headband, and put them on Maui's head and spread some petals around him. Then she made Maui hold some flowers with long vines. Then she quietly walked away as she tried to snicker silently.
Soon, Maui woke up. As he yawned, he noticed that his hair felt a little bit weird. He grabbed a part of his hair, gently pulled, and out popped some flowers. "Moana..." he smiled and shook his head as dusted all of the flowers on his body. He grabbed his fishhook and walked towards the farms.
Moana was working as if nothing happened. "Morning, Maui, sleep well?"
"I did, actually," Maui replied, "did you have fun?"
"Fun doing what?" Moana asked, pretending to not know anything.
"Putting flowers all over me?" Maui asked sarcastically.
"Putting flowers all over you? Why would I do that?" Moana still pretended to not know what he was talking about.
"Moana, I know it's you. Chief of Motunui wouldn't lie to people." Maui winked.
"All right, you got me. It was pretty fun though. Well, gotta get back to work. I'll meet you during lunch!" She jumped to a tree and quickly went up to the top and picked some coconuts.
"I know a place where we can eat lunch together," Maui said as she came back down.
"Where?" Moana asked.
"How about near the shore? We can have a little picnic there as we feel the ocean breeze," Maui suggested.
"I never knew you have such taste in picking places to eat. Well, see you then!" Moana said. As Maui walked away, she held him by the war gently and whispered, "You were so handsome when you were sleeping." Moana walked awsy modestly as if nothing em arrassing happened. Maui smirked and walked away.
