her pov.
Usual hangout place: bar, his apartment, empty lecture rooms, girls' bathroom, clubs, dance room, convenience store.
"WHAT?" I, visibly appalled, step back in shock as I continue to read Jimin's information sheet. "What the hell does he do in the girls' bathroom?!"
X chuckles, brushing his hair with his fingers. "You sound very interested about his life, Q, so interested that you don't seem to notice that their red string is right there. They're close."
Huh?
I avert my gaze away from the files, immediately detecting the long, seemingly untainted red string of fate that came into my attention.
Wow, what a coincidence. They're nearby.
"Oh, that means Seohyung and Jimin are on either side of the string!" I raise my voice in excitement.
Adrenaline rushes into my veins, making me push the files back to X. "Let's make them meet somehow. I'll be on one end, and you'll be on the other, okay? And we need to follow the string until we meet."
"Okay, deal. I'll go to the direction where I think Park Jimin is," X replies, then disappearing from my sight in a blink of an eye.
It looks like he went left, so I then head towards the right, following the string and hoping to see its other end.
The job of a cupid is to put together two people who are temporarily destined for each other, those whose red string are in the verge of tearing apart.
This is due to the people who prevent them from being together, constantly stepping on the string and unconsciously pulling it apart.
It's different from what the myths said.
The string can tear.
And cupids don't work with bows and arrows. They're figures.
With my head facing the ground, I stop walking in the middle of the road after seeing the end of the red string hanging from someone's pinky down to the ground beside their ankle. The person I stopped in front of is someone.. someone that's wearing a pair of sneakers that doesn't seem like they belong to a woman.
I hastily push myself away to avoid this person from bumping into me, despite being reassured by Ero that no human can see me.
Unlike ghosts, cupids are gifted with the sense of touch, despite not being visible to the human eye. In addition to that, their tracks are always covered whenever they cross the earth.
I manage to escape physical contact with the newly encountered client. He then passes by in a blink of an eye, making me miss his face.
I then scurry towards his direction, trying to keep up with his fast paced walking. I stop right in front of his face and then proceed to walk backwards, allowing myself to scan through his features. It is him, Park Jimin, one-half of my new client.
His eyes are squinted due to the blinding rays of the sun, and of course he doesn't acknowledge my presence. Wow, he's cuter in real life.
My recklessness pushes me to keep looking at his face a little longer, taking advantage of the fact that he has no idea of my existence. However, I then come into my senses after a few seconds, noticing the unnecessary proximity of our faces.. and remembering the mission.
Just when I am about to pull myself out of his way, our eyes suddenly meet, his gaze fixates with mine. My eyes widen and he abruptly halts his walking, my heart suddenly speeding up its pace.
"Who the hell are you? And why are you following me?" His voice booms with visible infuriation.
W...what? Did he just, see me?
