JIMIN
Waking up under a highway bridge in the cold January air was never fun unless you were Jimin who had his crushes arms wrapped around him. He was in between Jungkook and Yoongi, quite squished up but he was still freezing. But he was happy. He sat up and looked around. Of course he was the first one up out of the seven. Yoongi and Jungkook both moved a little, making Jimin afraid to move again. He didn't wanna wake up Jungkook cause he'd be cranky and Yoongi might swear at him like he did to Hoseok.
Once the two had settled he got up and tip toed over the four other sleeping bodies around on the floor. They'd laid down cardboard next to the brazier to sleep on but it wasn't any comfier than the gravel really. Jin and Namjoon had lucked out with the couch as Jin was the oldest and Namjoon was his boyfriend as they'd announced soon after the fireworks stopped.
"Jimin?" A groggy voice came from the row of sleeping bodies that Jimin had just stepped over. He froze again before turning to see Yoongi sat up looking tired, confused and absolutely adorable. Jimin smiled at him.
"Hey sleepy. I'm just going to sit in the field for little while" he said quietly. Yoongi nodded and Jimin turned to continue his walk to the field. That was until he heard footsteps behind him. Yoongi followed the orange haired boy sleepily. He didn't want Jimin to be alone, especially since it was so cold.
The two walked out to the middle of the field before Jimin stopped and took a seat. The sun was rising over the highway and abandoned container yard. They were both freezing but they sat in the grass and sat the sun rise.
"It's 2018 Yoongi, officially a new year" Jimin said quietly, shifting his glance from the view to Yoongi who was focused on the beauty in front of them.
"It is" he said. It was short but Jimin could tell Yoongi was relieved. He couldn't blame him. It was a new year and a fresh start.
"Do you think running away was stupid?" Yoongi said, turning to look at the younger. Jimin shakes his head, avoiding eye contact by looking into his lap.
"Of course not hyung. You did what you felt you needed to do to make yourself feel better. When you've taken over the world with your amazing music then you can go home and make your parents happy right? Even though I'm sure they're already proud to call you their son just think how happy they'll be when they find your music. They'll be the proudest parents ever!" Yoongi laughed at Jimin, at how cute he was.
Yoongi truly admired Jimin. Though his family were hard on him for some his choices, especially his father, he still smiled. He knew about Jimin being bullied and he knew how hard it was. Sure most kids are bullied but that doesn't make it any less serious. Jimin's case wasn't particularly different, he was bullied for being short, chubby and 'feminine'. But this didn't mean he didn't starve himself or try to 'man up' by trying to work out. It didn't work, he was weak from not eating. Bullying was serious and Yoongi knew that Jimin was incredibly strong for putting up with it most of the time. He couldn't blame the kid for missing half of the school year.
"Thank you Jiminie. You're also strong you know" Yoongi says with a gummy smile. Jimin shrugs, his head already hung and hiding his blush.
"I go back to school tomorrow hyung. I'm a little scared to be honest. I haven't been in so long and I feel like everyone will notice. I mean I don't have much presence aside from my extremely orange hair but surely they will have noticed" Jimin dyed his hair to rebel his mother and because the guy who sold him the dye was really cute. He did it in his second year and had kept it up for a year.
"If they have they shouldn't care. If all the need you for is to load their issues on through slurs and insults then they could fine someone else. I'd notice your absence straight away because you're special to me Jimin" Yoongi said, mirroring Jimin's hung head move.
