Chapter 1

~nicki (your) pov~

Beep.
Beep.
Beep.

I open my eyes squinting as the sun peeks through the window.
I look around my room it's painted a light blue almost like everything in this house.
"NICKI, GET UP!!" Laughs Somone from down stairs supposedly my brother Kacy.
"I'm coming.." I grumble.
I slip out from underneath my covers and go to put on my uniform. I also put on the charm bracelet my mother gave me before she passed away in a car crash.
I slump down stairs to find my older siblings sitting by the breakfast bar eating cereal. "Finally your up! So, hows life Nick?" Asked Katelyn casually.
"Well I just got up so life sucks because I am not a morning person." I sit on the counter facing both of them "Nicki get off the counter sweetie." Our dad proclaimed as he walked in the kitchen with a coffee in hand. I face my father and
stare at him with puppy dog eyes "Oh sorry dad, um I was wondering if I could go to the mall after school today." "And what would you need from there sweetie?" "I don't know I just wanted to go." I say as I stare into the counter. "Ok ok ok you can go only if.."my dad says dragging out the if. "What??" I practicly scream. "Only If Katelyn goes with you." My father says smirking at Katelyn. "KATELYN PLEASE!" I exclaim. "Oh I'm sorry Nicki but I can't. I have volleyball practice today."Katelyn says with sympathy. "Oh ok never mind." I said in defeat. "Nicki I'll take you" Kacy said. "REALLY?!?" "Ya I guess I need jeans anyway." "Thank you so much Kacy!" "Sorry to interrupt this sibling bonding moment" My dad says with sniffles "But you're going to be late for school." "Oh ya let's go guys." I said. "I'll drive!" Katelyn states as she runs out the door with her bag and Kacy close behind her. "Bye dad." I kiss him goodbye. I grab my jacket and backpack and walk out the door. "I'm walking." I call to Katelyn. She nods and pulls out of the driveway. I pull my jacket hood over my head blocking out my long light blue hair and pop my head phones on. I start to listen to the remix "Loss" by night core. (song above) I sing along and look at the ground. I walk for fifteen minutes before walking into the school. I was walking on the outside of the halls when I bumped into something hard and land on my butt. I look up to see a boy with black hair covering one of his eyes and a mask covering his mouth.
"S-sorry" I stammer as I look into his baby blue eye...s..
"I-I wasn't looking where I was going." "That's ok, and by the way I'm Zane." He said. "I'm Nicki and oh aren't you Garroth and Vlyads brother?" I asked. "Ya I am." "Do you have any siblings?" Zane questions. "Ya I have two." I say as I slip my hood from my head reveling my light blue hair that is identical to Katelyns. "Katelyn is my older sister and my brother Kacy is actually good friends with your brother Vlyad." "You look just like Katelyn but shorter and your eyes are green and not blue like your siblings." Zane states "Ya my mother had green eyes" I said. "Why haven't I seen you around before?" "Because I..." *Ring! ring!* I was interrupted by the bell. "Oh I..I guess I'll talk to you later then Zane." "Wait Nicki here" Zane hands me a folded piece of paper. "It's my number if you wanna text me or vice versa." "Ok thanks Zane." I say as I run off putting my hood back on as I do. I run into the English class room and sit in the back of the room. I pop my headphones in and hardly pay attention in class.

~~(Time skip to lunch)~~
           ~~Nicki's pov~~
The bell rang signalling it was lunch time. Everyone hurried out of the room. Everyone except me that is. I sighed and slowly gathered my stuff. "Nicki hurry up." the teacher said "I'm going." I walked out of the classroom and looked out into the deserted halls. There was only a couple of people left and one of them was Zane. I walked over to him and said "Hey Zane I'm s-sorry about earlier I can s-sometimes be a klutz." "Nicki it's ok I forgive you, and I was wondering if you wanted to um wanted to eat lunch with me?" Zane asked. I stared at him with shock and my face had to be as red as a tomato. "Ya sure I-I would like that." I said stuttering. Zane looked at me surprised, "Really?! I mean great umm let's go." He said as he started to walk into the cafeteria. The cafeteria was packed there wasn't a single table that wasn't full. I saw a dude with bright blond hair stand up and point over to me and Zane before walking over to us. "Hey baby brother!" He said with a bit of a baby voice "Hey don't call me that!!" Zane replied to him looking annoyed This must be Garroth. I thought to myself. "Oh who's this" Garroth asked looking over at me "I'm Nicki" "Pleasure to meet you Nicki I'm Garroth, Zane's older brother." "Ya ya lets go Nicki, I'm hungry." Zane said annoyed. He was still polite to me. We walked over to the lunch line and ordered our food. Zane ordered a hamburger with a cupcake, whilst I ordered a chicken salad and a cookie. "Well there's no place to sit want to sit by the bleachers?" Zane asked blushing. "Ya its a nice day today anyway." I replied we walked outside to where the track and the bleachers were. Me and Zane took a seat on the bottom seat and started to eat.

Once me and Zane were finished eating I jumped up and screamed "I BET YOU CANT CATCH ME!"  As I started to run around the track I heard Zane yell from behind me "OH YA ITS ON!!" I started to giggle and to start sprinting. I turn my head to see Zane start to get outta breath then I tripped but I didn't hit the ground. I looked up to see a pair of blue eyes staring down at me. I bit my lip and said "Zane.. I...."
