Nicki Hofe always tried to stay out of everyone's way and to stick to the shadows until one day she met a boy, someone she's seen before but never talked to.
Everything was turning out great until an unfortunate family event left her brother cluele...
We pulled up to the house just as the sun was starting to set the lights from the car casting shadows on garage door "Kacy look it's spoooky!" I say while waving my hands in front of his face for dramatic effect "ya, it's like your face, that scares me all the time." Kacy replies casually "wow. I was just having fun now your making fun of my adorable face." I say while smushing my cheeks together "uh huh, keep telling your self that." Kacy states as he climbs out of the car and walks towards the front door "oh really!" I say as I chase after him "yup, your freaky looking." He says as he turns around to face me waving his hands out in front of himself matching my gesture from before. "Well I guess I'll have to tell dad that your being a meany weenie!" I yell with a childish voice "nick you wouldn't!" Kacy says mocking my childish voice as he opens the door "ya I would" I say as I slip past him through the door "we're home!" Kacy yells from right behind my in my ear "really Kacy was that necessary I'm deaf now!" I say as I cover my ears "yes, yes it was." Kacy says as he heads up stairs for his room "Hey kate." I say as I spot her sitting on the couch in the living room. "Hey." She replies "Is dad home yet?" I question her "No not yet but he called saying he was grabbing pizza on the way home." "Ok cool imma go do my home work then." I say as I head up the stairs for my bedroom. I open my door to my blue bed room. (Nickis room)

I flop onto my bed and scroll through my phone looking through twitter seeing all the new gossip and tweets and after a few minutes of that then I scroll through Instagram liking all of my friends picks especially Zane's Instagram. I then check my messages and I had a few messages 2 from Katelyn from before we got home asking where we were, and one was from Zane (Z- Zane N-Nicki )
Z- hey Nicki I was wondering if you were free on Saturday? N- ya I am. what are you planning? Z- I wanna meet up with you and maybe we could hang out? N- that would be fun I would like that Zane. Z- really cool! I'll pick you up at 1:00pm on Saturday? N- sure that sounds awesome Zane. Z- see you then Nicki N-you too Zane bye Z- bye ... I hug my phone close to my chest and blush with excitement "Guys I'm home!" I hear my dad yell from downstairs "hey dad!" I yell to him as I run down the stairs "hi nick he says as he pulls me into a hug "hey dad?" I say as I pull away from the embrace "Yes nick?" My dad answers "did you bring food?" I ask "*laughs* yes Nicki I did." My dad answers with a smile "Yay!!" I yell as I run into the kitchen. I look around the kitchen to find a pizza box sitting on the breakfast bar "oh score! I'm the first one to the box!" I say as I open the lid to find that two pieces were already gone "sorry sis I got the biggest pieces." Katelyn says as she strolls into the kitchen holding a piece of a half eaten piece of pizza. "Well dang it." I say as I take another piece from the box and sit on a bar stool "Kacy pizza!" My dad yells upstairs as he walks in the kitchen grabbing a piece of pizza as well. All of a sudden we heard loud thumps come down the stairs followed by a scream of horror. I jumped off the stool and ran over to the stairs being followed by two pairs of foot steps that belonged to Katelyn and my dad and what we saw would leave us very scared. It would change our lives for the worse.
