Katelyns little sister

                   "Amnesia"

I stare at my dad like he just committed murder in front of me. "Your kidding...right...?" Katelyn asks with her voice just a above a whisper. My dad stares at her with a huge frown plastered upon his lips "Katelyn I wish I was, I really do. But there's good news to this the doctors said that he remembers his name and where he lives and what school he goes to, we just need to figure out if he remembers people." My dad says as he looks towards the door "Girls we should go see him." My dad says after a minute of complete silence "Okay" I respond building up courage as I open the door and step out of the room. We follow our dad down the hall twirls the emergency part of the hospital and into a room with a singular window with Kacy laying in the bed. "Hi Kacy." My dad says as he sits in a chair by the bed while me and Katelyn stand nervously right in front of the door. "Hi mr." Kacy responds with a drowsy voice, like he just woke up or something. As I took a few steps closer I could get a better view of my brother his sitting upright on the bed and he had a cast on his hand and arm as well as a support system around his head to keep him from moving it around very much as well as his shoulder and torso was wrapped tightly in bandages. "Oh hi girls." Kacy says as he looks at us "Hi." Katelyn and I say. "Kacy do you remember any of us." Our dad says slowly to Kacy "ya you all seem very, very familiar I just can't put a specific name on any of you but I think I have guesses." Kacy responds looking confused "ok take a few guesses for the older looking girl." My dad says "ok, um is it with a C or K those letters come to mind." Kacy says "Y-yes it-it is" Katelyn says "Hmm Katie?" Kacy says Katelyn responds with "that was my nickname when I was younger." "KATE-I-LYN" Kacy yells but mispronounces it "ya but it's Katelyn." Katelyn says as she corrects him "ok Kacy try me." Our dad says "um wow this ones soooo hard." Kacy says sarcastically "it's dad, duh." Kacy reply's very seriously. "Well close enough." My dad responds "And last but not least try the younger looking girl." My dad says while looking at me. "Um you look familiar, do you go to my school?" Kacy asks me "Y-yes I do" I say while trying to hold back my sniffles. "Oh cool we must be friends, huh!" Kacy says as he closes his eyes once more. "Hey guys I'm sorry but I'm tired can you leave." Kacy asks us "Sure Kacy well be back tomorrow sleep well son." Our dad tells him as we walk out of the hospital room and down the hall to the main foray "hi mam." My dad says as he stops in front of the check out/in desk "I'm here to check out miss Nicki Hofe." My dad tells her "Ah yes are you her dad?" She asks him "I sure am." He responds "ok just sign this form on the dotted lines and on this line here and please put the time and date that you checked her out on on this line here and your free to go." "Thank you miss." My dad says after he finished writing. The lady grabbed the paper and checked it over then handed me a slip of card stock paper with a barcode on it. "It's a key for the door, you can take it home with you and use it again when you come back to see you brother." She explained "Thanks miss." I said while walking towards the front door "Let's go home shale we?" My dad asks "Ya we all need to go and have a nap." Katelyn reply's as she walks out the door, we all get in the car with Katelyn and my dad in the front with me in the back seat and we started our journey home by pulling out of the hospitals parking lot.
