Ashlynn: Wow
Marley: Welcome to my room, Ashlynn.
Ashlynn: This stuff is amazing
Marley: Thank you, Ashlynn.
Ashlynn: *looks around* How did you get all of this stuff. I mean, you had to pay about-
Marley: Three million-five hundred-thirty seven thousand- and twenty nine dollars
Ashlynn: ...
Marley: My father, Steven Wright Maxwell, works for Stertlerson Inc so he pays for all of my things. He gives me money to make friends.
Ashlynn: Ohh...Is that why you paid for my shirt back at Hot Topic?
Marley: Yes, Ashlynn.
(Karen yells from off stage)
Karen: Marley!
Marley: *walks over to door; yells* Yes, Mother?!
Karen: Did you scan in?!
Marley: No!

Marley: *places device back down on table*
Ashlynn: Scan it?
Marley: What did you say, Ashlynn?
Ashlynn: What did your mom mean by "scan in"?
Marley: Oh, um, it's because of this. *pulls down scarf on neck to reveal scar*
Ashlynn: What is that?
Marley: I've had it for my whole life.
Ashlynn: Did you have an accident? Or a surgery? Or something?
Marley: My parents told me that I can't tell anyone, Ashlynn.
Ashlynn: I'll keep it a secret, I promise.
Marley: ...I don't know if I should.
Ashlynn: I promise, Marley. I am your friend.
Marley: Okay...It's a microchip. It tracks me. The twenty-seventh adaptable version of program ECHO-29A4.
Ashlynn: ... *shocked*
Marley: I scan into the house to keep track of my time.
Ashlynn: ...You're parents chipped you as a baby?
Marley: Yes, Ashlynn.
Ashlynn: Why would they do that?
Marley: I was supposed to have four older siblings.
Ashlynn: What do you mean?
Marley: The first three were stillborn and the fourth died in an accident at three years old. So, my parents chipped me to protect me.
