Just keep running. Don't look back.
There you go! I made it! Heck, I won! I bent over as I felt the exhaustion dripping from my face. That was tough, I almost came in as second! I've never came in as second before. James Dawson's catching up, but he's not going to beat me, Roy Chase. I'm not full of myself although I sound it, I just try to be the best that's all, but no one else sees it that way.
James grunts in annoyance as I walk past him to the benches, soon I'm going to be ready for the international league where I get to compete with other students my age and thrash them at their own game and win first place! See, not full of myself at all.
I see kye in the distance as I run towards him. He's hanging out with his girlfriend Olive, as usual. I smile at them and chug down my water, almost completely draining it with one gulp. "So Roy, what's up with you? You look like you've just run a marathon!"exclaimed Olive pointing out my sweaty shirt "I practically have!" I smiled looking at her through my sweat stained hair. "Eww!"she squealed "it's dripping" she pretended to gag as kye and I shared a glance.
As we talked, we heard James and his mates wolf-whistle at Maria Simmons as she strutted through the basketball courts in her way too short miniskirt. "Show off" muttered Olive as she fiddled with her hair. Kye noticed and whispered something into her ear, which made her giggle like a little girl. "Hey, mate I'm gonna go now, you two have fun..." I walked off draping my kit over my shoulder.
When I finally arrived home I slumped on the sofa and automatically turned the TV on, there was some nonsense about a cooking channel on it so I kept changing the channel until something caught my eye.
"We have received reports on young adults mysteriously vanishing from their homes, department manager, John Turner, witnessed a young man walking into the distance, John reported to have tried to tell the victim to go home because it was too late for the boy to be out, our source tells us that the boy, I quote, seemed as if he was hypnotised.
Here we have John now at the studio! So, John can you describe what happened the night you last saw the victim?"
"Well, the boy was quite dazed, he looked very tired and I felt sympathetic towards him, I tried to tell him not to go any further because he was about to walk into pitch black and could easily get lost. I told him that he'd better tell me where he lived and I could drive him home because it was quite a chilly night, you see we were the only two out on the entire road! Confusingly, the boy kept walking forward, it was like he was in a trance or something. I tapped him on the shoulder and he didn't flinch, it was as if he didn't even acknowledge my presence!"I turned the TV off and searched up this story on the Internet, there were some freaky stuff posted there...
When I finally got into bed I couldn't help thinking about the report on the TV. I opened up a book in hope that it would take my mind off things. Within minutes I managed to fall asleep.
