"I'm Terence" he said "follow me", his eyes were a misty grey and unsmiling - as I studied his face, trying to determine whether or not to trust him, I noticed why he was unsmiling - his eyes did it for him.
As I took his hand he led me into a dark corner, I was annoyed to have been interrupted from my early morning run, so I tapped my foot impatiently, blew my cheeks out and gave Terence a death stare. His eyes twinkled. Great, now I'm looking at a seemingly sorrowful guy who never smiles properly called Terence.
"Look, I've got to go and meet my friends in 5 minutes" I stepped backwards, staring at terrence who now has his eyes closed - he was concentrating on something, something I couldn't see, I walked closer to him and tapped him on the shoulder, "mate, are you ok?" I asked cautiously, suddenly, terrifyingly, his eyes began to glow a brilliant white which turned into a deep golden colour.
I gulped.
Somehow there were blue swirling lights that washed over the wall we were facing glowing with electricity and Terence was pushing me through it. Suddenly I was falling. Catastrophe was sure to follow...
From the glimpse I saw before landing, there was a huge field with multiple brick-walled rooms. And beyond that, a tall towering building.
I didn't exactly land gracefully, in fact I landed on top of my friend Lucy... In the scramble to get up we fell back down again, but this time ended up laughing instead of moaning. As I got up first I gave her a hand to get back onto her feet. "How the hell did you-" she began, but ended with weird hand motions pointing to the blue, flaming portal I had jumped out of. "No idea - that guy - I think he did it"
"Actually, yes I did" Terence replied to my comment.
"But how?" Lucy and I asked in unison
"You'll learn"
"Learn?" Gulped Lucy
"Welcome to the far-side academy, we'll teach you to hone your gifts and show you how you can use them" he answered simplistically. I stared at him in disbelief. Lucy put her hand on my shoulder with the other one pointing away "look" she said.
There was a huge towering building, it looked so out of place in this farmyard as it was made with white marble which was bathed in a golden light from the setting sun...
The setting sun? I double checked my phone

This makes no sense.
Terrence noticed me check my phone, "when going through a portal we skip roughly half of one earth day, but only seconds over here"
"And where is 'here' if we're not on earth" I asked.
Have a look for yourself, terrence thrusted a strange looking tablet into my hands as Lucy peered over my shoulder. Just as I turned it on a deep voice echoed throughout the field "Terence! Jet! Juliette! Here, immediately" they obeyed the voice and trudged along the grass to a stout figure in the shadows...
"It seems we're missing Freya and her student, well, only one to go" the voice marched away with those three in tow...
