Part 10

The four people in the SUV with Bryn were employees she had hired, all from out of town that were staying at the same hotel. Besides Angelique, there was only one other person that was from Pittsburgh. 

“All right folks, if you all have your morning refreshments I’m going to get start this meeting,” Bryn said looking around the oval meeting table. “You all will have time to mingle soon but for the moment each of you can say your names and I will follow with an explanation of what job each individual will do. Is everyone on board?”  

The group nodded in approval and went on with her speech. “Great, so let’s start on the left side of the table and go around. Remember to pause after you say your name.”  

All eyes went to the first person to make an introduction. “Hi everyone, I’m Tracey Brown and I’m from here in Pittsburgh.” Tracey had drove and showed up after they were all inside. She was a petite African American girl with short curly hair. She wore some stylish glasses that complimented her face and enhanced her pretty features. 

“Thank you Tracey. Now she came highly recommended and as executive assistant she’s here to assist the whole office. Oh, and for those of you who never had assistants before please adapt to change by utilizing her help. Tracey is a God send and has helped me so much during the past weeks.” The group smiled at their new assistant and then all eyes went to the next person.  

“Hey all, I’m Cassie Mei and will be relocating to Pittsburgh from Jersey.” Bryn advance Cassie but Angelique could tell it was hard to let her go. She knew that Cassie must be a gem to work with a workaholic such as her dear friend.  

“I’m a bit at odds here because Cassie was my executive assistant, however, having completed years of schooling to get her degree and all the fine works she’s done since she has been with me, I promoted her to project manager. For the record that’s one thing with me, if you put in the time to improve your skills I will never hold you back, so please know the door of opportunity is always open to advance as far as you can go. Angelique, having Cassie here is almost like you working with me. Anything you need ask her and if she can’t answer, then I’m only a phone call away.” 

Angelique smiled at Cassie. “You and I will be two peas of pods.” 

The group chuckled and then Cassie replied. “Perfect, then it will feel just like home.” Angelique could see that she and Cassie were going to get along great. She was an Asian girl with mediocre looks. She had straight jet black hair that was in a bob with front longer and shaped around her face and the back shorter and tapered. It fit her perfectly. The introductions went on around the table. There were two architects recently hired. The first was Lori Peters from Jersey and the other was Jason Lee from New York. Angelique thought Lori to be very business oriented, and although it didn’t present a problem she knew she wouldn’t be as outgoing with her down the line. Jason on the other hand was likable all the way around. He was also Asian and from the way he talked, walked and represented himself there was no doubt he was gay. She could see the two of them becoming really good friends.  

Next to her sat Uri Nibert, who would be wearing multiple hats for what his job entailed. Bryn had put him in charge of things that had to do with human resource and accounting and payroll. Later adding that if the job became too demanding another person would be added. Angelique sort of considered him a numbers geek that was willing to take on the positions solo. Then it was Angelique’s turn to greet her coworkers. Bryn followed up telling them she would be lead designer and manage the office which meant all should report to her. Out of all the people in the room there was only one that seemed unpleased and that was Chad. She wasn’t about to let him spoil her day so she ignored him letting her attention go back to Bryn.
