Trey was one thing, he was a grown man and could take care of himself, but her innocent child was a different matter and definitely a subject that was off limit. She scowled at him with hatred written all over her face.
“You must have a death wish to even bring up my child.”
He ignored her. “If you do as I say you can save us from going down that road.”
“You’re crazy and when I get out of here you’re as good as gone.”
“I’m not going anywhere because if I do you’ll be coming right along with me. Only I’ll be far away and you’ll be sitting behind bars.”
She looked at him surprised by the remark. “In your fucking dreams.”
“No, actually not kitten.”
“Stop calling me that, I’m not your anything.”
He smirked. “Kitten,” he said purposely, then licked her ear causing her to unsuccessfully flinch away. “You see I’m in charge here, not you, you’ll do best to remember that Angelique.”
“Do you think I’m believing anything you’re saying? If anyone is going to jail it’s going to be you”
“Not after they find out you embezzled money from the company.”
Flabbergasted she laughed. “You have lost your freaking mind.”
“I haven’t because when the authorities get a call about so called embezzlement, what they are going to find are the appropriate documents with your signatures on it.”
“What?” she asked shocked staring at him.
“Ah, I finally have your attention, perfect. Yes, you heard correctly. The document will come back to you because it approved shaving off thirty percent of profits for yourself into a private account that you recently opened. That’s not going to look too good I must say.”
“It’s a lie. Bryn would never believe that I tried to steal from her.”
“Don’t be so sure of that, I mean how can she not when there’s going to be so much proof. Right off the back there’s already fifty thousand sitting comfortably and all in your name only.”
She wasn’t believing her as he probably knew she wouldn’t. He released her long enough to pull out a statement that was in his suit pocket and held it up to her face. Reading the paper it confirmed everything he had told her. Angelique was mortified, she stood there trying to figure out how he could have done this and then it hit her. There had been multiple carbon copy forms she had signed off on when she first began. Just thinking about it made her stomach feel heavy. She was careful to read everything, how could she not when she was married to a lawyer.
“It looks like you know what I did.”
“You somehow stuck the papers you wanted me to sign in between one of the carbon copies didn’t you?”
“Ding, ding, ding. So you do have beauty and brains after all. It was pretty smart don’t you think. I was sure you wouldn’t flip through the copies and sure enough you didn’t. You made it very easy for me.”
“You’re such a creep. Okay, you framed me so what is it that you want from me?”
“I want what you’re husband has kitten.”
She peered at him stunned. “What?”
“I wouldn’t sleep with you if you were the last man on Earth. I deal with the consequences, especially with my husband being a lawyer.”
