Part 7 - Tasks at Hand

I know I'm extremely late with my uploads, but I didn't vanish so please forgive me. Unfortunately, things have gotten in the way, but I will try to do my best to stay on track. Here's the next installment  to TOM2, and I have more to follow behind this one.  As always, your feedback is important. I like hearing your thoughts and opinions. I still need to go back and edit so if you come across any minor errors please excuse it. The weekend was pretty low key as Trey and Angelic enjoyed family time with their son. Sunday evening after TJ was put to bed she decided it was a good time to go check on the email that Bryn sent her. Trey was in the bedroom watching a football game. She poked her head in, alerting him that she would in the office using his computer.

Retrieving the directions it was easy enough getting logged in and went straight to the email opening it.

Hi Angelic,

I’m going to call you in a few, but wanted to get this sent out while I still had in on my mind. I have a few things that need done before my arrival on Friday, and I’m hoping my new office manager will be able to handle them for me. Things are pretty much already in action. I only need you to make sure it’s done right and that the jobs get completed. Here’s the list:

Monday - Painters are due in the office to put on the final coat. It’s crucial that they stick to the schedule because furniture will be delivered Tuesday afternoon at one. The building owner will let them in; please give Marcy a call to make sure they are there in the morning at eight. Also, have her call you when they are done, reminding her about Tuesday’s delivery when you phone. Her number is (427) 331-5489.

Tuesday - I pulled a few strings the last time I was in town and had the furniture store manager, Tom, come out to see the space, as well as bring catalogs to pick out what I wanted to buy. He’s driving out along with the furniture truck. Tom has a diagram of the whole office, so he knows where everything is going. You don’t have to worry about a thing. Marcy will let them in and the only things I need from you is to get there by two to see how things are going and lock when they leave. I paid them good money to set up each office as I specified, so if you find Tom constantly asking if things are to your liking, that’s whyJ

Wednesday – Phone service is scheduled to be turned on today. Give the office a call in the morning around nine. Things should be fine, but just in case it’s not, please give me a call right away! Today, all our telephones and office equipment are getting delivered at 11:00 a.m. I need you at the office to let them in this day.  All the computers, fax machines, copy machines and everything else I’m forgetting about will be installed. I paid an extra fee so please remind them to check EVERYTHING before they leave.

Thursday – Nothing

Friday – I will be arriving in town. There’s going to be a meet and greet with your fellow co-workers. Yup, I’m having everyone in to see their new working quarters. I’m so excited and can’t wait to get you all together.

Angelic read the email and then sat back in the chair. leaning her head against the head rest. The office wasn’t even open yet, and Bryn was already whipping out assignments. A rush of being excited and anxious washed over her. It wasn’t because she couldn’t do the work, but instead because this was so new and everything moving rather quickly. Butterflies were doing cartwheels in her stomach. It had been so long since she’d been in the workforce, and she was not only going to be working again, but in charge of a group of employees. She closed her eyes taking in a deep breath and blew it out slowly.
