(Loneliness's POV)

Song: Happier - Ed Sheeran

I had just finished my shift when I ran into Virgil. He looked... shaken. It was as if someone had upset him. Knowing what everyone thought of Virgil, someone had probably slipped up and told him about the oh-so-popular rumor going around. The rumor that Virgil was Unstable. I shuddered as the word ran through my mind, it's unfamiliar, harsh tone sounding wrong describing my modest, meditative friend. Unstable means that he doesn't act normally, or according to his "emotion." It means that he corrupts other sides.

People around here treat Virgil badly, to say the least. For most of the time I knew him, he didn't have any friends. He was like me - alone, excluded; but the difference was that I knew he wanted someone. Unlike me, he didn't like being alone. And then events happened that forced me and Virgil to become friends. We discovered that we both shared an acute love for music, writing and movies. While the rest of the sides love theater, we love softer songs - I play piano and he sings. Not many people know this, but Virgil has an amazing, angelic singing voice, married perfectly by the soft, melodious tune of my piano. Once I heard him sing, our friendship was sealed.

No one knows about our friendship yet, if they did they'd probably label me "Unstable" as well. The embodiment of "loneliness" shouldn't have friends, they'd think. Hell, it was hard enough for me to wrap my head around the concept of my new friend, it just... wasn't meant to be done! But it was, and ever since I haven't looked back. And as for Virgil being Unstable, the other's might believe that, but I'd die before thinking that about him. I've seen a proper Unstable side before, as we all have, and it's just not something that is easy to miss. I would know if Virgil was Unstable. I just would. Anyway, it's just a stupid rumour. It takes an official word from Logan to label someone Unstable, and it won't get to that point. Virgil's just too important to Thomas.

I walk past the cafeteria and see Roman and Patton involved in a serious conversation - fighting almost, their words sounding hasty, with Roman's voice getting louder and higher the more they speak. My eyes cautiously flick towards them, and to my horror, I see they have stopped talking and are gazing at me intently. Roman mumbles one sentence in Patton's direction, too quickly for me to register. And then he is off, pacing quickly in my direction, eyes blazing, with his expression steeled over. He looks so unlike himself that it causes my breathing to quicken and I take a step back. I'm never scared, but Roman even has me intimidated!  For a second I think he is going to knock me over, but he swerves out of the way before we connect, leaving me disorientated and confused.

I look over at Patton, what were they talking about? Patton looks distressed, and, seeing me looking at him, takes a moment to compose himself before beckoning me over. I vaguely hear something about Virgil come through the loudspeaker, but I'm too focused on Patton to think about it. He opens his mouth and closes it, and I can almost see the gears move in Patton's brain as he thinks of what to say. When he finally does speak, his voice comes out harsh, speaking in a practiced, commanding tone so different to any I've heard Patton use before.

"I need to talk to you about your friend Virgil."
