Leah goes through a hard time dealing with her feelings for Klaus. She doesn't know whether to push him away or not and this makes her have confused thoughts. Everyone finds out about her and Klaus, but because of the scandal with Damon and Elena no one really judges.
In this season she has the constant thought of becoming a vampire and wants to be stronger and capable of saying her friends. Although she wants to wait until the timing is perfect and remains human.
For a graduation gift Klaus gives her plane tickets to visit him in New Orleans so she must figure out to use them or not.
