Kara held Lena's letter in her pale shaking hand, she couldn't remember the last time Klaus had done her the honour of giving her something to eat, or drink for that matter. Kara up until this moment had completely overlooked how on earth Lena's letter had made its way to her in the first place, she was a lot more concerned about the actual contents of the letter, how could Lena just give up like this? Just submit to her fate and Kara's like freedom meant little to her? That wasn't the Lena, Kara had grown to know, and perhaps even love despite her, many, many flaws, being undead the main one.

Kara didn't know how but somehow she had to send some sort of reply, to let Lena know she was alive, that there was still hope left for them. The blonde picked up the broken bit of charcoal that was lying on the floor of her prison, ripping out a page of the diary she had managed to hide from Klaus all this time and started writing.

Lena, I know this must seem impossible knowing what you do about Klaus, who I can confirm is just as evil as ever, but I am alive! Oh this is Kara by the way, Kara Danvers. Please don't give up fighting for anything, you are every bit a Superhero, trust me even the comic book heroes who I used to look up to when I was younger, and now, have nothing on you! You have to fight Klaus every step of the way, because if you don't stand up to that monster then no one will and the world as we know it will be doomed, not to mention we will all be dead. So if your reading this letter Lena, you're stronger than you believe, and I believe in you! And if by some miracle you find me and rescue me then maybe thats the universe giving us a shot, please don't give up on me Lena.

Kara put the Charcoal down, before scrunching the bit of paper up into a ball, thats how Lena's letter was delivered to her after all. She threw it across the cell, hoping something magical would happen, sending it straight to wherever Lena was. But the bit of paper simply flew through the gaps between the bars of her cell, Kara groaned, now it was lost forever. Suddenly it dawned on Kara, what the hell was Klaus going to do when he realised she was able to write that letter, what punishment would he think suitable for her crime against him? Before Kara could think anymore on the issue, the doors to, what she assumed was a dungeon, swung open and in walked Klaus, waltzing up to her cell like a King greeting his subjects. He stopped in his tracks, as he bent down to pick up the scrunched up ball of paper containing Kara's letter to Lena, that she had spilled her heart and soul onto. Kara's heart began to beat out of control, how  could this be happening?

"What is this?" Klaus growled as he began unravelling the ball of paper but as he started to do so, the paper burst into flames, before disappearing right before his very eyes, leaving no ash behind, Kara smiled weakly hoping that the letter went straight into the hands of Lena. Kara had come to the conclusion that Lena must have befriended a witch who could do this kind of spell. Klaus turned round angrily, thinking that Kara had outsmarted him, and seeing the smile on her face only added fire to his already burning anger. "You'll regret that!" Klaus roared, dragging Kara from her cell, she had no strength left to even attempt to fight him off, the only hope left for her was Lena.

Lena was still sitting at her desk in the old mansion that her and her band of rebels were currently calling home. suddenly she felt something hit against the back of her head, she turned around and saw a bit of scrunched up paper lying on the floor, she picked it up, looking around cautiously as she did so in case someone was trying to play a prank on her. She unravelled the bit of paper, and gasped when she noticed who's handwriting it was. It was Kara's, she felt like she was in a dream.

Lena read through the letter at least three times, the knowledge that Kara was depending on her for saving her life, made Lena want to take down Klaus even more, and maybe with Kara by her side, this time it was possible. Lena still for the life of her couldn't figure out where these letters were coming from, or if they were even real, but at the moment it was hope, and thats all she needed.
