Our story starts off in the school gym where Gray Fullbuster sat, spinning a ball on his finger. He was deep thought, when a voice called out. "FULLBUSTER!"
He looked up to find the schools P.E. Coach staring into his cobalt eyes. "Yes?" Gray answered coldly, the coach pointed to Gray's gym mates. "Participate now!" Gray stood up, shoving the ball into the coach's arms.
"Fine." He said, rolling his eyes. Gray strides over to his gym mates. "Gray, come play ball" one called out. He scoffed as a reply, walking towards them.
As he passed a group of girls, he heard them whisper. "That's Gray, he hasn't played basketball in a long time, not even in gym."
Gray's gym mate Lyon tossed him the ball. "You're on my team" Gray looked at the ball, and tossed it to the ground, it bounced a few times before coming to a complete stop in front of Lyon. "I didn't say I was going to play." He said before turning around and walking away.
Gray walked into the locker room, and sat on a bench, where he waited for the bell to ring, once it had rang, he changed and exited the gym. While on his way out of the gym, a girl with blonde hair stopped him. "Senpai, can you accept my feelings and go out with me?" She said while she looking down at the floor.
"No. Feelings and being loved just hurt you in the end." He replied, the girl looked up at him and nodded, her eyes were glassy with tears. "You just haven't found the one that will change your world, and once you do, you'll see the world differently, I just wish I was the one." She said before walking away.
"The one? Yah right, true love doesn't exist." He whispered to himself, he shoved his hands in his pockets. He passed a trophy case, his reflection caught his eye. He stopped and looked at what he saw.
A person that he didn't know, or cared about stared at him. Himself. A woman's voice echoed through his head. "Now Gray never forget you are, or where you came from." It was his mother's voice.
"I never forget, but I wish I could." He once again whispered to himself, he found himself staring at a trophy, with his name on it. His face was dull, and his eyes were unhappy.
He rejected the thought of any happiness, he exited the building, and walked down the street. More he heard people whispering about him, he didn't care, nor would he ever.
As Gray passed the entrance to the park, he heard a voice singing, he stopped and listened for a minute, another voice joined in. Gray strolled into the park where he saw a girl, and a boy roughly a year younger than him, singing.
He caught the girl's attention, and their eyes locked. For a split second Gray felt something different, something strange, something he's never felt before. She smiled at him breaking the eye contact, he just shrugged and walked away.
"What was with that girl?" He said thinking of her, the thought of the blue haired girl smiling, flashed across his mind. "Why'd she smile at me?"
Gray found himself at his house, next door he noticed moving trucks. "New neighbors" he groaned, he had just got peace and quiet, now he has to endure the noise of loud neighbors again.
Gray walked inside, closing and locking his door, and slinging his bag into his closet. "Jeez, what else is going to happen." He said walking into his kitchen, and washed dishes.
After twenty minutes, he grabbed a snack and headed upstairs to his room. Gray closed his bedroom door, and sat at his desk which was by his window. Peering through it, he saw slight movement coming from the bedroom in his neighbor's house.
"Ok, I got it Gajeel calm down." A girl's voice said, Gray could barely hear it. The next thing he knew, the curtains in his neighbor's window opened, revealing the girl from the park.
She pointed at him, and look genuinely happy. He read her lips. "I know you!" They read. He nodded. She opened her window, and he opened his. "Nice to meet you I'm Juvia." She greeted sticking her hand out the window for him to shake. "I'm Gray." He replied shaking her hand.
Their houses were only a few meters apart, so it was possible for them to shake hands. Gray heard a boy's voice from within Juvia's house. "Via What are you doing?" He said, before popping his head through window.
"Ah, you're meeting the neighbors. Sup, I'm Natsu, Juvia's twin." The boy named Natsu said, Gray realized that Natsu was the boy from the park as well.
"This is Gray, I saw him earlier." Juvia said. Natsu nodded. "Well anyways Gray, we have some unpacking to do, I'll see you later." She said, as she grabbed Natsu by the collar and pulling him back through the window.
Gray watched as she waved and closed the window. "What a weird girl?" He said shaking his head, and closing his window.
