Gray sat beside Juvia's bed holding her hand, he looked at her sleeping face worriedly. "Wake up soon, ok?" He asked, squeezing her hand gently.
It'd been a month since Juvia went into the coma. Her brain scans show movement, but her heart rate will slow down once awhile. Gray cleared his throat. "Hey, before I forget to tell you, I tried out for the basketball team and I made it." He said.
Natsu walked in and stood beside him. "Gray go home get some rest, and eat something I'll stay with her." He said. Gray looked at him, then back at Juvia. "You're right, I don't her to wake and be angry at me." He said before standing up.
Natsu walked him to the door. "Thanks for being here for her. I appreciate it." Natsu said. Gray looked into his eyes. "I feel different when I'm around her."Gray said.
"I guess I'll see you later." Gray said turning away and walking down the hall. Natsu waved. "Don't starve yourself!" Natsu called out to Gray. Gray held up his thumb signifying he was listening.
When Gray got home, he pulled his shoes off and went into the kitchen. He looked through the cabinets and found something nutritious, and ate supper. He retreated into his bedroom, where he sat at his window, and looked at the sky.
Closing his hands, and clasping them together. "I know I haven't prayed in a while, but please listen and grant my prayer. Please let Juvia wake up soon. I just need to see her smile." Gray prayed.
The next morning, Gray was waken to his phone ringing. He looked at it and saw Natsu's name across the screen, he answered the phone.
"Gray get down here quick!" Natsu said before hanging up. Gray threw off his covers ran down the stairs, putting his shoes on. Gray ran out the door, and locking it, and down the street he ran.
Thoughts raced through his mind. "What's happened? Is she awake? Or is she?" He pushed the thought of her being dead out of his mind. He couldn't bare losing her. Gray ran into the hospital.
Natsu met him at the door. "I got here as fast as I could, what's going on, is she alright?" He asked Natsu grabbing him by the shoulders. Natsu's face lit up. "She's awake!" Nats said.
Gray nearly screamed in joy. "Can we see her?" Gray asked.
"Yes, but don't be to loud." Natsu. Gray nodded, the two walked down the hall. The smell of cleaner and medicine filled the air. Gray stopped at the door, and had his hand on the knob.
"Go ahead Gray open it." Natsu encouraged. Gray took a deep breath and opened it. His eyes locked onto her shimmering eyes. Her smile made his heart skip a beat. "Hi." He said.
"Hey." She replied never losing her smile. He walked over and threw his arms around her. "You made me worry so much." He said.
Juvia hugged him back. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to." She replied.
After breaking the hug, Natsu and Gray sat on chairs beside Juvia's bed. "Um Juvia, Now that you're awake, and can actually react, I wanted to tell you something." Gray said.
Juvia looked at him, and said. "Go on."
Gray looked at her, and chuckled embarrassingly. "I was looking at the basketball tryouts, and decided to try out." He said. Juvia leaned in closer, her curiosity grew. "And?"
Gray made a neutral face. "Bad news, or good news first?" He asked. Juvia hid her face behind her hands, peeking through her fingers. "Bad." She said.
Grays face didn't stagger. "Ah yes, you see here Juvia I won't be able to hang out as much, starting Tuesday." He said. Juvia proceeded the information, but her face lit up a minute later.
"YOU MADE IT!" She said, practically jumping out bed. Gray nodded.
A few hours passed, and visiting hours were over. Natsu and Gray said good bye to Juvia, and left. The two walked back to Natsu's house.
"I'm glad she's awake." Gray said, Natsu patted him on the shoulder. "Me too, Gray." Natsu replied.
"So you wanna come in?" Natsu asked, Gray stood there for a minute and then nodded his head. "I guess."
Natsu opened the door, allowing Gray to walk in first. Gajeel met them at the door. "How was Juvia?" Gajeel asked.
"She's good, she's excited about Gray making the team." Natsu said punching Gray into the arms playfully.
Gajeel face turned into a sad posterior. "I wish I could've been there, but I had work, I'm the worst big brother ever." He said.
Natsu and Gray started to sweat, and shake their hands. "No, you aren't. You were at work, and Juvia understood that, she's glad that you're not sulking around." Natsu said quickly.
Gajeel wiped his tear away. "She's not mad?" H asked. Gray shook his head.
"Good. So Gray you're staying for dinner. I made way too much, even Natsu can't eat that much." Gajeel said walking back into the kitchen.
"Come on we'll go to my room, while we wait." Natsu said, Gray followed Natsu up the stairs, they passed a pale cream door. "That's Juvias room." Natsu said gesturing at it.
Gray stared at it for a moment, before following Natsu to the next room over. "This is my room." Natsu said opening the door. Gray stood in shock. Natsu's room was so neat and clean.
"I got bored p, since Juvia isn't here. So I cleaned my room." Natsu said. Gray walked in. "Wow, You should come and clean my house." Gray said jokingly.
Natsu walked over to a shelf, and pulled a picture off of it. "This was Juvia and I a few years ago, singing." He said handing the picture to Gray.
Gray looked at the picture, he saw a child Juvia and Natsu with the biggest smiles on their faces. He looked up to see Natsu looking sad.
"That was the day before we found out Juvia was sick. That is my most favorite picture of us, and memory." Natsu said. Gray studied the picture more. He noticed that hair hair was darker back then.
"She's changed a lot, hasn't she?" Gray asked. Natsu looked at him "Yah." He replied. Gray handed the picture over to Natsu, and walked over and sat on Natsu's bed. "Maybe we can, set a thing up so she can sing." Gray suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea." Natsu replied.
