As Gray fell asleep, he found himself lost in a dream, it was peaceful, and calm. He saw glimpses of Juvia in a white dress, waving towards him. But as he drew closer to her, she began to fade.
He reached out for her, but she disappeared. Gray shot up out of bed. Cold sweat beaded across his face. "What was that?" He whispered, he looked over to the window, to find Juvia looking up at the stars.
He walked over to the window. "Hi" He said. She smiled and waved. "Couldn't sleep?" She asked, he shook his head. "Just a bad dream" he replied.
"Wanna talk about it?" She asked, once again he shook his head. "It was nothing." He said, she nodded her head, not wanting to press on. "So Juvia, why did you move here?" Gray asked.
She smiled, and shook her head. "That's an answer for another time." She replied. The two sat in silence staring up at the night sky. Juvia hummed a lullaby. Gray found himself, drifting off into slumber.
Once Gray fell asleep, Juvia tossed one of her blankets on him. "Good night, Gray. I hope you sleep well." She said, before closing her window, and going to bed.
The next morning, Gray woke up to find Juvia's blanket on him. He shrugged and closed his window. Gray got ready for school, and ate a quick breakfast before exiting his house. Gray was about to pass Juvia's house when she came walking out. "Hey Gray, would you mind if I walked with you?" She asked, he shrugged.
The skipped happily beside him. "Why aren't you going to school with your brother?" Gray asked, Juvia crossed her arms and pouted. "That meanie said he didn't want to." She said.
Gray nodded, as they walked, it was silent. Juvia fiddled with her thumbs, while Gray had his hands in his pocket. "Oh before I forget, thanks for covering me a blanket last night." He said.
She nodded, and smiled. "You're welcome, so Anyways Gray, I was wondering. Do you live alone?" She asked, Gray shook his head.
"My Dad lives there too, but he's usually gone for work. I rarely see him." Gray said, Juvia rubbed her arm. "I'm guessing your parents are divorced?" She asked.
"No, actually my mom passed away." Gray said. Juvia stopped, Gray looked back at her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you think of your mom." She said, he could hear her sniffling.
"Don't cry, you didn't know" He said, she nodded slowly. The two walked some more before reaching the school grounds. People turned to face Gray.
"There he is, the guy with a frozen heart." Someone whispered. Juvia tugged on Gray's sleeve.
"Why are they saying you have a frozen heart?" Juvia asked. But Gray didn't respond. "Gray?"
He shrugged her off and walked away. Juvia stood there shocked. "What's wrong with him?" She thought, before following him.
She followed him through the halls, and watched as he stopped in front of a trophy case. He looked at it before disappearing into the crowd of students. Juvia walked over and saw Gray's trophy.
"Basketball? If he was this good. Why'd he quit?" She asked, a girl around Gray's age stopped beside her.
"No one but Gray knows, he just quit one day" she said, Juvia looked at her. "He never told anyone?" She asked, the girl nodded. "Not a single person."
"Oh I'm Erza by the way." The girl greeted, Juvia smiled. "I'm Juvia, nice to meet you." She replied,
Erza smiled. "Ditto" the school bell rang, and Erza walked away. "Dang I don't know where to go." Juvia sighed, looking at her schedule.
"Where's room 777?" She asked a boy with blue hair. He pointed towards a room and she thanked him.
Upon entering the room, Juvia saw Gray. "There you are!" She said before sitting next to him, he ignored her.
"Gray what's wrong?" She asked, once again she got no reply. She looked down at her paper, and teared up. "I'm sorry, I must be annoying you." She said through the tears.
He looked at her and grabbed her hand. "I'm sorry I don't mean to make you cry, I just hate school." He said, she gripped his hand. "I'm sorry that I may have annoyed you." She said.
He shook his head. "You didn't annoy me. I promise." He said, Juvia wiped away her tears. The teacher walked in. "Good morning class, I see we have a new student. Please if you may, introduce yourself to the class." He said.
Juvia stood up, and waved. "Hi I'm Juvia. I have a twin brother he's name is Natsu, so if you see him around call him Sparky, Anyways, I hope we all become friends." She said, everyone greeted her.
Juvia sat down. "Jeez That was so embarrassing!" She whispered, Gray chuckled at her. The kid in front of them gasped. "Gray just chuckled" he said to his desk partner. Juvia raised an eyebrow. "So that's a shock to you, Gray's an amazing person. Not a cold person that you all see him as." She replied to the kid.
Gray's eyes widened, nobody had ever stood up for him, he didn't even do it. He often ignored the kids. After the kid got an earful from Juvia, Gray turned to her. "Thank you."
"No problem, it just bust my buttons when someone's rude to another person." She replied. Gray watched as the girl got out her stuff, and took notes on what the teacher was talking about.
After a few classes came gym class. Gray stood alone, until the bubbly bluenette appeared next to him. "So this is infamous gym class" She said. He nodded. "I hate gym." She sighed, Gray sweatdropped.
"You are so random" he said, she nodded in response. Natsu came running over. "VIA!" He yelled hugging his sister, Juvia laughed at her brother's silliness.
"Both are random" Gray whispered.
The coach came in. "Gather up, so we can play dodge ball." He said. Gray groaned as did the rest of the class. The coach separated the class into two separate teams.
Gray was on Juvia's team, while Natsu was on the other. As balls flew across the gym. Gray dodged them, and catching some causing players to be out.
"Gray watch out!" He heard before Juvia pushed him out of the way, he looked back just in time to watch the ball bounce off the floor, and Juvia lying on the floor unconscious. "Juvia!" Gray said.
He crawled over to her, and shook her. "Someone get some help, she's not responding!" He yelled. Natsu came running over. "Juvia!" He shouted.
