The Ceremony (Part 1)
I stare open-mouthed at the Alpha and Luna.
I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. I tried again and had the same result. I finally closed my mouth, and nodded vigorously.
The Luna cracked excitedly and shot up from her seat. She took my hand and lead me to a stair case.
"I'll go get you a pair of clothes. I'm so sorry. I should have thought of that before. If you go upstairs and take a left, your room will be at the end of the hall." She had a bounce in her step, letting me know how excited she was that I accepted her offer.
She bolted off before I could reply.
I hurry up the stairs, and find the room the Luna was talking about.
I would have a family that cared about me! I would have a pack that excepted me, well...hopefully. The twins don't seem to like me.
When I entered the room, my eyes became as big a saucers. It was huge!
The walls were a soft purple, the bed had black sheets and it was Queen sized. There were two walking closets, both the size of what my old room had been. There was also a complete bathroom.
Oh my gosh! I think I just died and went to heaven! Maybe the Black Sage Alpha got me after all.
I didn't care though, this was the best afterlife I couldn't even have dreamed of.
There was a dresser in the far right corner that had a mirror attached to the top of it and a side table sat next to the bed.
This room is amazing!
My old room was basically a closet, although it was the pack house attic. All that the room had was piles and pukes of dust that often made me sick. I didn't even have a blanket or a pillow.
Pitiful, I know.
There was a knock on the door and so turned to see the Luna. She had a hand stretched out towards me that held sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt.
I walked over to her and took them. I was thankful that she brought clothes that would cover all of my body. I didn't want anybody else asking me about my bruises. I couldn't bear the pain of explaining it all again.
"Thank you." I whispered.
She smiled and nodded.
"It'll be nice to have a daughter." She said and I try to give her a smile but it probably looked more like a grimace.
She turned and left as I slipped on the clothes, and I gave a small smile as I found undergarments folded between the pants and the shirt.
Crap, I forgot the bag I put in the tree!
I was so focused on escaping from the Alpha that I had forgotten it.
I don't have any money. I don't have anything to remember my mother or sister from except the mental picture I hold of them. I also don't have any clothes.
Wonderful! What am I supposed to wear tonight?
I heard another knock on my door and turned back around to see another beautiful girl except she looked my age: 17.
She was smiling, bouncing up and down as if she was having a sugar rush.
"I'm Alison!" She introduced herself as she bounded over to me.
I nodded and gave her a weak smile, speaking quietly as I introduced myself, "I'm Angelina."
"You're gorgeous. Where did you get such lovely hair?" She gushed and my heart sank.
She didn't have to lie. I know I'm ugly. I've been called an (and I quote) "ugly ass bitch" for as long as I could remember.
"That's not a bad thing, that's very good!" She added ver quickly when she noticed my face drop.
She must think I'm insane for thinking that being pretty is bad but she doesn't understand that I'm not pretty.
I sighed and walked over to the bed.
"Dot go and sit down, we have to go to the mall. You have to have something to wear tonight and the rest if the days you'll be living in this pack." She perked up and I stopped mid-step.
I turn around and face her but I stare at the floor instead of her.
"I don't have any money." I admitted begrudgingly.
Why do I have to be so helpless?
"That's ok. Since you're going to be part of the Alpha's family, they're giving you money." She explained and I shook my head.
"That's not right, they hardly know me. It's kind enough that they're allowing me to join their pack and family, I don't need to take their money too." I protested.
"Oh stop, if they didn't want you to use any if their money, they wouldn't have offered you to join their family." She argued.
She walked over and grabbed my hand. She guided me downstairs and outside to a very nice looking Mercedes.
"Come on, we're going shopping!" She giggled.
I sighed again.
"I guess." I spoke softly, giving in.
