Two Shots

Isaac's POV

"Mom, I'm home." I called out when I walked through the front door of the cabin that my mom and I were staying in.

I had just finished my evening drink.

There was no reply.

"Mom!" I called again but there was still no answer.

I search the house and find it completely empty.

Where did she go? She was here before I left.

I saw a piece of paper lying alone on her bed and I picked it up.

Son,

I am wanting to speak with you. I have your mother but she is no harm, I couldn't do that to my own mate. Meet me a quarter mile away from the Black Sage pack house tomorrow morning at nine.

A.J.

I crumpled the paper in my hand, anger raging through me.

That son of a bitch has my mother!

The Next Morning

I didn't sleep last night knowing that my mother was in the hands of my father. I know mates don't hurt each other but I didn't trust my father. If he was able to hurt his own son, he was able to hurt his mate.

I walked away from the window and dressed in a new pair of jeans and a black t-shirt.

Why does he want me to meet me by the pack house? What does he have to say?

Once I reached the place my father told me to meet him at, I saw my mother and father sitting hand in hand. My mother looked happy but I still looked at my father uneasily.

I marched over to them with a scowl on my face. My father rose to his feet, bribing my mother with him.

"Isaac, I understand that you can't just go find another mate. Even though I may not like it, you need to be with your soulmate. I'm sure I'll grow to like her. I already have, I like the way she doesn't back down when someone tries to push her down. She doesn't give up." He spoke and I stare at him, my eyes not wavering.

He's letting me be with my mate? But it's only been one night?

After a few seconds passed, I bolted for the pack house. I threw the doors open and called for my mate.

"Angelina!" I called and realized the house was vacant.

It looked as if no one had occupied the house in years.

Did I imagine her? Was my mind playing tricks on me? Did I make her up? Wasn't she just here yesterday?

Angelina dropped out of school, not able to be Alpha and go to school at the same time. I quit, not wanting to be a teacher anymore. I wanted to focus on my mate.

"Hello?" My voice echoed through the silence.

I ran out to the driveway and found no cars. Angelina said there was always someone here.

Where have they all gone?

They left. She left.

Anger swelled within me and I lashed out at the free next to me. It groaned under my touch.

How could she leave me? She's mine!

I close my eyes and smell the air. They left not only two hours ago.

I start on their trail, and began to go after the one and only one that I want by my side for all of eternity.

Angelina's POV

It was 9:00 A.M. when we got back to Dark Lust territory.

I couldn't move from the driver's seat. I've been having difficulty moving since I left Black Sage territory, my body has been in agonizing pain.

A wave of pain wafted through me and a scream slipped past my lips. My wolf and I were in so much pain because of the large amount of distance we put between us and our mate.

Go back to mate. My wolf whimpered.

No. I hissed. He wants a vampire bitch as his mate. Forget him.

No, I want my mate. I can't forget him. She growled and I groaned at the pain she caused inside my head.

If you want the bastard then go get him but I'm staying here. I'm not about to get hurt again. I told you I'm done with love. I snarled.

But you admitted that you wanted Isaac. She shot back.

I don't anymore. I let him go. I've left him behind and plan on forgetting him. I seethed and tears streamed down my face as Isaac began to take over my thoughts.

You can't forget your mate, it's impossible. Please, go back to him. She begged.

My body started to shake uncontrollably.

I open the door of the car and try to get out but end up falling from my lack of strength.

"Her body is shutting down. She won't be able to survive without her mate. The bond became too strong." I heard my mother's frantic voice.

"It's about time that bitch dies. How about we make her die a little faster!" A female's voice shouted.

Two shots rang out and warmth spreads around my chest just as heard a yell pierce the air.

"Landon!" Jessica screamed, sounding hysterical.

"Alpha!" I heard several faint voices shout.

My vision started to blur and a small breath left my lips before everything went black.

************

I opened my eyes, feeling weird.

I groaned and winced when I saw a bright white light. I put my hand up to my face and gasped, my eyes going wide when I saw my hand. It was translucent.

I shrieked and looked around.

I'm dead. Gone.
