Loving You But Leaving You

Isaac's POV

As I left the room, I heard soft weeping. It took everything in me not to turn around and confess that all of what I said was a complete and utter lie. But I didn't, to save her life.

Wolves looked in our direction, some glaring, others seeming confused, the rest not giving us the time of day.

When we were far enough from the pack house, I began to yell at my father.

"Why? Why the hell did you make me do that? She's not even your mate, it isn't your decision to make!" I shouted.

"You're not mating a dog, I refuse to have my kind turn against me because of some animal that's supposed to be our enemy." He snarled, turning to face me.

"Find a vampire as your soulmate, there are plenty of desirable vampiresses that would love to rule at your side." He added.

"I'm done, Ashton. I no longer accept you as my soulmate. If you think it's so easy, you go find another soulmate, but I'm interested in the what's best for my son." My mother spat, a scowl dominating her features.

I stared at her in shock. This was the first time I had ever seen her stand up against my father.

My father was on his knees, begging my mother not to do this.

"Lily, please, I need you." He begged, but my mother shook her head.

"No you don't. Apparently you think you can just snap your fingers and you can have another soulmate, so you do it." My mother looked pain to do this but she kept her tone icy and cold.

My mother took my hand and led me away from my father who was calling us to come back.

He made me act like I didn't want Angelina. He told me to make her believe that I didn't want her, otherwise he'd kill her.

I wish I could go to her and explain everything but I'd do anything to keep her safe. Even if that means staying away from her.

Angelina's POV

A little while later after Isaac and his parents left, Alison found my crying silently on the floor of the gathering room.

"Angel, what happened?" She rushed over to me.

"He left." I whispered, those were the only words I could think or speak.

"Who left?" She questioned.

"He left." I simply said.

"Isaac? Of course he left, he isn't going to stay here." She smiled but I only cried harder.

"He left me." I rocked my body.

"Oh, Angel, I thought you just meant to go back home. I'm so sorry, and I thought he was serious." She comforted me.

"I did too. I was willing to give him a chance." My voice cracked again after I was able to stop the tears.

"He left me! He doesn't want me. He led me to believe that he wanted me back. When he saw I was willing to give him a chance, he threw it back in my face!" I shouted and hit the wall over and over and over, it shuddered under my touch.

"Calm down, Angel." She warned.

"How the fuck am I supposed to calm down? He left me!" I shrieked.

"I know, but you have to. I know it hurts, but you have two packs to look over now. You don't want to cause panic among them. You have to stay strong." She reminded me and I took deep, shaky breaths to calm myself.
