Chapter 5

I put the keys in the ignition and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Mom.."

"Not now, Jamie."

I pulled onto the main road and made my way back home.

"Mom your phones ringing." Jamie handed me my iPhone. It was an unknown number.

"Jamie, is this one of your friends?"

"No just answer it."

I listened to my 10 year old daughter and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Alexis, it's Aaron." his voice echoed through the phone.

"Oh hi. What's up?"

"I was wandering if you wanted to, umm, go out tomorrow."

A smile spread across my face.

"Say yes." Jamie whispered in my other ear.

"Yeah that sounds great. Can you text me the details, I'm kind of driving."

"Oh yeah! Of course."

"Ok thanks."

"Welcome."

With that he ended the call.

"Mom are you like going on a date?!" Jamie giggled.

"Jamie, I'm gonna need you to sit down." I playfully pushed her back onto her seat.

"Jamie get ready for softball please."

Jamie ran to her room to change. I pulled out my phone and saw a text from Aaron.

From Aaron: Ganzos at 6:00pm?

To Aaron: I thought you were a chef? why don't you just cook me something?😂

From Aaron: That's sounds way better! My house at 6:00?

To Aaron: I'll be there :)

From Aaron: Ok good :)

"Mom why are you blushing" Jamie chuckled.

"I'm not you little butt! Get in the car." Jamie ran out the door and I followed her. We got back in the car and drove to her practice.

Jamie grabbed her bag and ran onto the diamond. I felt my purse vibrate and scavenged through it to find my phone. It was Jc calling...

"What do you need, Jc..."

"I'm fighting you."

"What?!"

"I'm fighting you in court. I want custody of Jamie and I'm gonna get it one way or another..."
