Ch.7
Jamie's POV
I was stomping my way to the cafeteria. When they agreed to him being better than he was in the beginning I didn't think they meant moved on so much that he was actually willing to date again! Let alone her! That damn conniving bitch!
I slowed my pace and had Sydney and Danny on each side of me. I was outside of the cafeteria and stopped. I let out a breathe and fixed my hair. Wow did I feel conceited. Maybe I should join the cheerleading squad, hehe. I smiled to myself. My sarcasm was helping the butterflies in my stomach.
"It'll be fine." Sydney said as she held my shoulder. I laughed with a smile and walked into the cafeteria. Danny took my hand and Sydney held my sleeve. I walked ahead so I didn't have to deal with them right now. I put my bag down on the table and sat down.
I was so confused and stressed and overloaded with thoughts at the moment that I was weak. I looked at the seat on my right and remembered the day when Austin had sat next to me. I almost choked out a sob, but held it in as I felt the two traitors sit down.
"So. You couldn't have mentioned this before because I can't even put into words what the fuck that idiot is thinking!" I blew in a low, but angry voice. It was mainly to myself, I couldn't believe he was with that fucking slut! That blonde bimbo skank! I just wanted to grab her hair and yank her down to the floor and show her what a real bitch can do.
Sydney had Danny get our food. I sat there with my arms crossed as Sydney told me what happened. After eight or so months he had grown back his confidence and began flirting again. She reassured me it wasn't the same as before, but that didn't matter to me. She was still with him. So he began seeing the girl he knew I hated most. I was not only not going to tell him about his daughter, but I wasn't going to talk to him at all.
I looked over at him. He was sitting at the guys' usual table, but had Kendra wrapped around him like a cheap scarf. She laughed and giggled and flirted with him. I scowled in disgust. He was talking and laughing with them too. Then he looked over and saw me. He stopped everything and just stared. My eyes got wide and I gulped. I looked at Sydney and started talking to her like I had never seen him. I could feel his eyes on me and I ignored it as best I could. I heard a sound of disgust and found Kendra sneering and glaring at me. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at her. I tried not to notice him, but I swear I heard him chuckle. Damn my childishness.
Danny sat there and ate his food knowing that if he looked over I would kill him. I laughed at what Sydney said and took a bite of the mac and cheese that was sitting in front of me. Lunch ended and I headed to gym. Uck.
The gym activity was dodge ball. The teacher was considerate and told me I didn't have to participate because I was recovering. I was thankful, but for the sake of being a normal student I played. It was bad, but not horrible. Like the gym classes I remember from before. Austin was in this class and I managed to accidentally slam him in the face with a ball. Great, more unwanted attention.
It was over and I was out of the locker room fast. I saw Danny and told him I had to grab something from my locker. I forgot my cell phone and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a call relating to Savannah. I opened my locker and checked. I breathed out a sigh of release as I noticed I hadn't missed a call. I closed my locker looking through my texts as I walked. I bumped into somebody and almost fell on the ground, but I was picked up by the waist by the someone who I had ran into. I looked up to see Austin looking down at me as he held my waist. I dropped my phone and he let go to pick it up.
"No!" I said as I quickly bent down to pick it up. It had a bunch of Savannah stuff in it. I couldn't risk him questioning anything.
"What's wrong with me picking up your phone?" He said almost harshly. Why the hell was he angry.
"I don't need you helping me with anything." I said as I stood back up. I looked into the gorgeous eyes I had dreamt of almost every night since I had last been here. I walked by him and kept walking until I was in Danny's car.
"What happened?" He asked as they both turned around to face me.
"Nothing. I'm perfectly fine." I said as I looked out the window.
