Ch.9

Jamie's POV

I wiped my hands on my dress and followed them into the kitchen.

"So, the drinks are gonna be in the fridge and the cooler. Did you remember to bring it?" Eric said.

"Sure dude, it's in the truck. Be right back, I'll go grab it." He walked towards the front and then stopped and turned. "I grabbed ice too, I didn't know if you grabbed any." He said.

"Thanks man." Eric said. Austin left the room and I heard the door shut.

"So. Who did you invite?" I asked as I opened a bag of chips and filled a bowl of them. I grabbed some and crunched on them.

"Uh, I invited a lot of my friends from college and I had Austin invite whoever from school." He said. I gulped down the chips and groaned. I could only guess who would show up. I had called Sydney and Danny earlier and told them to come because I didn't want to be sitting in a corner watching my brothers drunk friends grind.

"Awesome." I said sarcastically and jogged upstairs. I checked my door. I opened the door and checked the baby corner. I wanted no one to be in my room and Eric made a sign to put on the door that clarifies, rather humorously, that people aren't going to be in there making out or otherwise. I went down the hall to my parents locked door, mine had a lock, but they still had to get me a key, I couldn't lock it because I lock my key when I left. So it was unlocked all the time. Which made me way more worried about tonight.

I unlocked the door with my French manicured nails that I didn't really care for. They were shiny and new looking. I wanted to go play with Savannah in a mud puddle in the backyard to take care of that. I laughed to myself and pushed the door open. I didn't see any of the baby stuff. I turned on the light and moved to the bathroom. I looked in to see it all maneuvered around the toilet, bathtub, and sink. I shut off the lights and locked the door behind me before I went back downstairs. I saw a couple of older guys laughing and pigging out on the chips as they sat around the counter. I walked in to the kitchen. They whistled and I rolled my eyes.

"Dude, that's my sister." I heard Eric say as I went to the fridge. I grabbed a can of grape soda and turned around. I saw the look in Austin's eyes as he glared at the guys. He turned to me, surprised that I had turned around. He blushed a little and looked away, grabbing some cheetos from another bowl.

Half an hour later

The music was playing and a fair amount of people were there. People kept arriving in large groups. Sydney and Danny were already in the kitchen seeing who can catch a cheeto in their mouth from the farthest distance. I had gotten tired of playing with them and went out to dance. I laughed and danced with a couple girls I knew.

"Excuse me." I heard a voice behind me say. I turned around and saw Austin standing there.

"Wanna dance?" He asked, his head bent a little low, like he was shy.

"What about Kendra? She should be all over you by now." I said as I stood there. I felt my heart jump as I smelt his familiar smell. The way he had smelt that night. I looked up into his eyes.

"She can't be here tonight. Common, just one dance?"

"Um, sure." I said. I moved closer and his arms went around my waist. We started moving together. I wasn't that great a dancer, but he moved his hands where my hips should go. It felt wrong, he was with someone else, but I couldn't stop.

"All right all you love birds. Here's a slow song." Eric slurred. He was very drunk. The music was slower and Austin's hands tightened on my waist, which drew my attention back to him. We both blushed at the same time. My arms instantly went around his neck and we stood there smiling at each other.

"I've missed you." He admitted.

"Me too. I'm sorry I didn't say good bye. It was kind of spur of the moment." I said. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't a lie. He was about to say something.

"Look, Austin, there's something I need to tell you-" I said, but was interrupted by the front door banging shut. We both turned to see a shrieking Kendra come crying into the living room. We broke apart instantly. She turned towards us and saw him. She was crying, her face red. She ran over to him and embraced him in a hug. She noticed me over his arm and glared, but then turned her attention back to Austin. He hadn't hugged her back, just stood there tense. He looked down at her looking confused and annoyed. I almost laughed, but didn't want to hear her complain.

"Austy," I sneered at her nickname for him. "I'm pregnant." My heart dropped and I stood there in shock.

A/N: So what do you think about this? Do you hate Kendra as much as I do? Cause I really hate her right now.
