Chapter 3
Aiden
My name is Aiden Ridge, I'm 17 years old, and I've been waiting for this day my entire life.
In case you're wondering about the whole monastery thing, well it's a long story. If you weren't, well too bad, im gonna tell you anyways.
One upon a time, this planet was vastly populated with people like me. We lived in small marble houses that would make even diamonds seem dull. Our lovely houses were said to be the best in existence. I believe every word of it. But, our greatest masterpieces were our monasteries. We took great pride in them. Each one took several years to build, but it pays off. There were three of them, but only one still remains. That's where I live.
We were a proud race, and our habitat reflected it. There were large bodies of fresh water adorning the lovely flowered fields out children relished in. Everything was right in our world. Of course, those days are over.
My people followed the teachings of our God, Alstro. Prophecies foretold that, whenever a threat came about, the great warriors of Alstro would come forth with their blessed powers and smite the foe. So when the Empire started their takeover, everyone expected warriors to just come falling out of the sky. When that didn't happen, they figured "if you can't beat them, join them". It still gets to me when I see one of my brothers, fighting with the enemy. It's quite easy to spot the traitors, because the Empire's pristine white helmets make it easy to spot the coffee colored skin of my brothers through the eye slits.
They all left for the Empire's planet. I alone remained here. I know I can't leave. I have to wait for the others.
Because, you see, I am one of Alstro's warriors.
I control the mighty element of water.
