You wanted to cut me open. To find the beauty through all the pain. I hide behind a thin layer of skin and bones. You wanted to see the true side of me. I refused. But you insisted. You cut me open. Let your words as sharp as blades run down my abdomen. You watched all the gross, deep red-black stuff fall out. You screamed at the sight. Terrified. Horrified. Saddened. Unaware. I cried. And I fell. On top of all the gross, deep red-black stuff. So distraught by what was really inside of me, you ran. Left me to die. Like a fish left in a desert. You cut me open to find beauty. But instead, you found only pain.
