I awoke in a hosptial with Will clutching my hand so tight I thought it was going to fall off. Everything was white, but not as pale as his face was.

"Nico," Will whispered. I could tell he'd been crying. "Dad came, he said your organs weren't getting air and drying up." A tear dropped down his cheek.

"I'm sorry," I said, moving my hand to wipe away his tear. He didn't need to cry. I was going to be fine.

"We-... we can try and take you off the machine for a bit to see if your oxygen tank and cannula would work again," Will said. "But you're barley getting enough air as it is." I will admit, the machine was very uncomfortable.

Suddenly, there was a pain in my lungs. The machine had missed a breath.

Two breaths.

Okay, the third breath came.

But I felt like shit, with not having nearly enough air in my lungs to go with the panic I felt there.

"Will," I said, cupping one of his cheeks in my hand. "Can you do something for me?"

"Anything," he breathed out.

"Sing for me. Please." I slid my hand down his face and back to my side.

Will cleared his throat and took a deep breath. (Yeah, I got kind of jealous when he did that.)

"You are my sunshine,
my only sunshine."

My heart started to slow down, I thought I was calming down a bit.

"My only sunshine.
You make me happy,
when skies are gray."

My heart didn't stop slowing, and I could hear the panic starting to grow in Will's voice.

"You'll never know, dear,
how much I love you."

My eyes closed, and my breathing all but stopped.

"Please don't take, my sunshine-... Nico?" There was a loud, continuous beep, and my heart stopped. "NICO?!"

Gods dammit, Will. You couldn't even finish a song before I died.
