Chapter Four

Philip's POV

I lean down low to Aarow's neck, my eyes narrow and I grit my teeth, scanning the forest as we race through like the devils on our tails.  We jump over a log easily and land five feet over it.

The only thing that sends us to a grinding halt is two stone horses landing in the field infront of us. The owners are drapped in heavy cloaks and soothing their hoarses in hushes whispers. I recognize those horses... they're from Aaron's castle in the human world. I grind on the breaks and we stand still in silence.

Aarow snorts in annyonce and stomps foot, adrenaline racing through his blood. I growl and look at my cut path through the woods and turn Aarow so we slowly exit the shadows, my hand wraps  around the  hilt and I sink low in the saddle, my eyes cut sharply at the owners.

The shorter of the two looks up and nudges their partner.  The other  looks up and freezes in their tracks, his hand stops soothing the Pegasus' quivering neck soaked in sweat.

"Show yourselves. "I growl and  Aarow snorts and stomps his front foot. " Come on..."

The shorter's hands slowly move to their hood and pushes it back.  My eyes widen and I slowly sit up in the saddle.

"Peggy?...." I gasp and my grip lossens. She smiles and nods.

"Sorry for scaring you Philip. " She shrugs and slowly runs her fingers through her Pegsi's feathers.

"Who's your friend. " I  growl and eyes narrow. He pulls his head down and holds his hands up in defense.

"Its me, Charles! Relaxe!" He gives a nervous smile and holds the reins.

"Have you guys seen George?" I start backing Aarow up and I hear my father's horses  in the distance. They both frown and look at eachother .

"No, why?" Peggy shakes her head and walks over to me. "I thought you and George weren't on speaking terms?"

"And shouldn't you be with your wife?  I thought you guys were leaving for your honeymoon today. " Charles leans against his Pegasus and cocks his head .

"Aaron took George." I hiss. " and.... uh... George and I kinda got backtogether."

"Philip...." Peggy groans and Charles slaps his hand against his face.

"We're going to try and keep it private.' I sigh and look at the sky.

"And ditching your wife on your wedding day to go after your Ex doesn't say anything about there being a relationship between you." Charles deadpans. I blush brightly and rub the back of my neck.

"Well....I-I.... I care about him and...." Aarow backs up and I shake my head." You two have been spying on the castle, is he there yet?"

They both pale and their eyes widen, they have a silent argument and both shake their heads.

"No ones at the castle Philip." Peggy sighs and climbs into her saddle.

"Aaron and John and whoever the hell is in there with them left about six hours ago. That castle is deserted. "  Lee  tucks his legs under his Pegasus' wings and hands tighten on the reigns.We sit in silence and my eyes widen.

Ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitfuckmegentlyohshit...

"We've been going in the wrong direction ." I gasp. They both nod slowly. "They tricked us!" Aarow grows agitated again and rears up with a yell.

"They knew that your first reaction would to be go to the last place they were at, there." She points over her shoulders.

"We've killed hours for nothing. " I snarl and I turn around to head back through the woods.

"Philip wait!" Peggy climbs off her ride and leads him over to me, extendingthe reigns to me. "You'll go faster with Flicker. I'll take Aarow and tell your father's.  Charles'll  go to the kingdom and talk to the other kings."

I hesitate before climbing of Aarow and saddling on Flicker easily. She must sense my anxiousness becase as soon as I sit shes taking off across the field getting air underneath us. I yelp and hug onto her tightly.

"Alright Flicker... We've gotta go to the north. " She casts a look over her shoulder that sums up how I feel and she pushes harder. We take a sharp turn and I hug into her tightly.
