Chapter Nine

Alex's POV

"Alex we can't just go into New York. " Thomas follows closely as I sling my bag across my body and strap two knives to my hips.

"Watch me." I growl and turn into the stables.

"Where are you even going to start? Alex, Philip could be anywhere . " He takes my hands in his.

"Those assholes could have him."My eyes cut through like a knife through cheese.

"They don't. "He shakes his head and hugs me tightly .

"How do you know?"

"Because they're not here demanding anything for his release. As soon as theyd get their hands on him they'd come right here demanding things. "He kisses my knuckles and we slowly.

"Then we have to find him before they do."I yank open a stable door and pet Legion's nose.

"Where are you going to start?"Thomas asks softly. His eyes are fearful and  he's already worried a bruise into his bottom lip.

"I dont know. "I sigh and shake my head. "Maybw someone in town will give me a hint. "

"Us. Us a hint." He says and goes grab his own horse.

"Oh no you don't.  You need to stay here.  Protect the kingdom. "I shake my head and put a hand on his chest.

"I left it in Laf's hands. He's smart and powerful.  You know him Alex. If  they need me all he needs to do is give a call." Thomas assures. Besides, if Philip is smart about one thing,he knows traveling alone is dangerous. "

"I hate it when you're right. " I sigh and shake my head. We both mount our horses and take off in the direction of the borded.

"But you love me." I can feel the warmth of his smile on my back. I look at him and give my own  smile back.

"Of course Thomas. I will always love you, my mate." I catch a faint blush and he pushes up next to me .

"So who are you planning on asking first, smart one?" His eyes train to the sky.

"Local businesses.  There was a party in town last night. I saw the lights. " i shrug." Ask around see if they've seen him."

"And introduce ourselves as king and Philip a prince?" He cocks an eyebrow." They're going to ask where we're from."

"Say were Lords from the west." I shrug." There are big Lords there.  They'll assume we're one of them and help us out. "

"We'll be picked out in a crowd easily as Fae."He grumbles.

"We'll hide it, it'll be harder with you. But we'll figure something out." I sigh and look at him. I can't help but admire how handsome he is. I'm a lucky man.

"And if all else fails?" He sighs.

"We go to my sisters." I grind my teeth.

We both hate the back up idea
