Chapter Nineteen

Thomas' POV

I can feel the wave of hate and heat come off of Alex as we silently drive back to Nee York. His eyes scan the road coolly and he nods at any car that looks  suspicious. My hand finds his and I rub his knuckles soothingly.

"What's the matter?"I ask softly and press a kiss to his hus knuckles. He manages a soft smile and leans against me with a small sigh.

"What if we can't take Aaron." He says softly, casting a glance at  Philip and George who are both watching a movie,earbuds in and grins wide.  Philips head is on George's shoulder, their hands entwined and legs tangled together. " He killed an Angel last time, he killed you. He killed the most powerful man of the mkst powerful court. He killed the chosen one . He killed everyone."

"Hey," I glance at him and give a soft smile. " We're ready this time. We'll kick his ass and make jokes while we do it. We're going to be okay. "

He doesn't look convinced, but he nods slowly.

"We need our war strategist. " He sighs and cranes his neck to look into a car with black out windows.

"We don't know where Hercules is. " I remind him and his eyes seem to dim slightly.

"He's a kindergarten teacher. "Philip looks up and offers a soft smile. "He taught us, don't you remember?"Alex looks down and away,shame in his eyes.

"Sorry Philip," he twists in his seat and looks at Philip. " I.... you remember how much I used to work, I wasnt around much." Philip nods slowly.

"He brought you to work. I was put in charge of watching you." I roll my eyes and look at him.  He smacks my elbow and gives a warning glare.

"So thats why I have a dent in my head." Philip gives a crooked smile and we all laugh.  George passed out again, his head landing against the window with a soft thud.

"Actually that was my bad. " I flinch and smile at the memory. "We were in the kitchen and I forget you were therr, so I put a pan on the counter, you grabed the handle and it landed on your head."

"I take right after you dad!" Philip's smile grows." I grab anything with a handle and can get hot." Alex's face turns bright red and he looks like he's debating throwing Philip out the car.

"Anyway..." I chuckle and look at my family,eyes landing in George and I shake my head." How are we going to get Herc to remember?"

"Laf's like a God right?" Philip asks. I nod slowly. "So he sees everything in the past,present, and future. " another nod." What if he's already going to go make out with Herc?"

I shiver and Alex makes a gagging motion.

"Ew,ew,ew. Get the image of my brother and friend making out in some closet filled with little jackets." I look at Alex and he rolls his eyes.

"Alright, imagen me bending George over last night and...." Philip doesn't get to finish as a road map is thrown at his head. Have I mentioned how much I love my husband?

I turn off of the highway and into the city, George's eyebrows screw up and he clamps his teeth together. Inside the car it drops freezing cold and my eyes widen, Alex starts glowing. Standing next to him is like the warmth from a match in the Arctic during a blizzard.

"Wake him up." I say, my breath clouds infront of me and I find a place to quickly park before the window frosts over.  Philip nods and gently wakes George, I open the doors and warmth floods the car.

"What?..." George yawns and looks around, his cheeks dont even have a tinge of pink to them. He studies us for a few minutes before his eyes widen.  He grabs Philip's hand and pulls him from the car." We have to find John and Charles!"

"Why? What happened?" Philip asks as he's dragged along, Alex and I look at eachother before taking off after the duo.

"I... Aaron.. and John... Shapeshifting." He growls like hes frustrated and shakes his head, his grip tightens on Philip's hand and he scans the streets, we try to keep our heads low.

George's video of him walking out of a crator after falling a hundred feet has gone viral.  We've been seen with him. We have to stay low.

"It's alright. " Philip puts a head on his lover's shoulder and gives a smile. My phone vibrates and I take it out quickly.

"He's calling. " I bite my lip and awenser.

"Thomas, nice to see you again." Aaron's voice purrs.
