Love Conquers All

Chapter Five

George's POV

"Where is the little runt anyway?" John cocks an eyebrow at me as I lean against the wall and sit on the boxes.

"I told him to go be productive and ask what the news around here has been lately." I shrug and study the lights. They turn John's hazel ones a pale apple cider color .

"Gotta keep him busy somehow. Keep him off your trail?" John looks between me and thr street.

"He thinks I'm going to help him look for you and Mr. Burr." I scoff and rolls my eyes. " Yeah, I'll help find him a way right to Aaron.  He's a stupid little child."

"It's suprising he doesnt learn anything from his parents. " John looks back twoards the woods.

"Truely amazing." I nod. "He only is eighteen."

"Amazing he's keept himself alive that long." John laughs and a smile grows on his face.

"Well, they've been training him lately. I've seen him practice, he's talented. " I nod my head to him." Wich way shall I take him?"

"Get him as far away from the border as possible." John clenches his teeth. "The last thing we need is his parents intervening.  We'd all be as good as dead."

"Alexander would kill us with his bare hands." I shiver and shake my head."So west it is."

"We'll make sure that your job isnt too easy . Wouldn't want you to get bored,now would we?" John smiles brightly at me and I grin back.

"A little fun here and there never hurts." The bar  door that Philip opened little over half an hour ago opens and he comes stumbling out, he rubs at a red lipstick mark on his cheek and glares behind him angerily." Hey John.... Have you ever noticed that he kind of looks like you?"

"I know." His voice goes tight and hands curl around the knife at his belt as he glares at Philip." He certianly does, it would make sense as I'm his fathe."

"What?"I hiss and snap around to him . He does not look very happy with his statement either. " I thought his parents were dead!"

"Before Alex showed up three years ago," he sighs. "I got a little to drunk and had fun with a water fairy at a party. She gave birth to Philip in the middle of the war, so I killed her and used Philip to lure Alex out."

"Poor guy." I clicky tounge and study Philip as he looks around the crowd for me.

"No kidding. " John scoffs and pushes away from where he was sitting. " You know what way to go. I'll speak to you again soon." And with that he slips into the shadows.
