George's POV
The bridge. That's where I ran too. I sit on the edge and put my legs over the edge. My eyes fall to the bottom of the canyon and I tighten my hands on the bars keeping me from falling.
"I should've just given him what he wanted. "I sigh and drop a rock over the side. I count to ten until I hear it hit the bottom.
I let my eyes close and lay my head against the cool iron. My fingers feel over the grooves of the stone I'm sitting on . The birds chirp as they sail across the wide gap.
"George?" I look up and sigh, my head leans back against the bars. Its Theodosia. She runs the libary in town with her daughter. Just a mom and her daughter. They're both amazingly sweet.
"Hey Theodosia."I sigh.
"What's with the long face?"she cocks her head and sits next to me.
"I... It's a long story." I shake my head.
"Well," her eyes study the sky. All we see is sky for forever. "We have time. I'm your friend, talk to me."
I sigh and nod. I start with the day that Aaron found me . As I speak her eyes get wider and wider, at one point I catch tears in her eyes out of the corner of my vision. I put my hands on my knees nervously and look across the valley. One side theres a forest with a city in the distance. On the other side there a field, full of wheat and wild grass and flowers.
"George I...." She starts but bites on her lip. We sit in silence for half an hour.
"If you don't want to be my friend any more, I understand. Who would want to be friends with me?" I laugh nervously breaking the silence." Who would want to be friends with a monster like me?" I sigh and look at her.
"George, I never said I wanted to stop being friends with you. I don't. I cant." She hugs me with one arm."But I'm the last person you want to see for romance advice. "
"But what would you do? I don't want to lose him Theo. I love him." I bite my lip and feel the tears build up in the corner of my eyes.
"I would wait for hom to realise what he did. Give him time. If he really loves you he'll come back." She says with. Soft smile. I nod slowly,in a daze like state.
"It'll only be a matter of time." I nod." But when's my time up?"
"When you decide if he really loves you." She says softly. I takea shaky breath and nod. I stand up with her and glance at the field. I want to take him there some day, it's beautiful.
"Alright,I'm willing to wait for him."
