"Did it work?"

'Yep. Nolan's right behind me. Like, literally right behind me. He's driving a bright red car.'

Liam and I look at each other before laughing.

"I swear, Monroe acts like she's teaching them everything yet she's teaching them nothing."

"Just be careful, okay?"

'Okay.'

"We'll see you in a little bit."

We get out of Theo's truck as Mason pulls in to the parking lot.

"How far back is he?"

"Just down the road, don't look."

Theo and I walk to the trunk of the car and start grabbing all of the sleeping bags a blankets.

"Do you think this is going to work?"

I look over at Theo. "Maybe? I've never had to fake leaving Beacon Hills."

"What all have you had to fake?"

"My death."

He looks over at me, knowing exactly what I was talking about. "Haha, very funny."

"I wasn't trying to be funny."

"Oh."

"But I don't care anymore. I became an alpha out of the whole situation."

"That you did."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, you just stated a fact."

"And?"

He shakes his head. "Never mind."

"Okay?"

"I should've known you were going to become an alpha. The Doctors struggled with altering your DNA because of it."

"What?"

"You being a true alpha protected you from that."

I stare at him. "I-"

"You okay Chels?"

I avert my gaze to Liam and smile. "I'm fine."

He nods. "Let's get this show on the road."

I watch as two hunters get out of a truck, looking at Nolan intently. 

"Where are they?"

He points towards the zoo. "Inside the zoo. They're all here. It's not just the two of you, is it?"

"What do you mean 'just'?"

"It's not just a pack, okay? There's two alphas, true alphas to be exact, and a banshee. They're all here."

"I don't see all of them. I don't see anyone."

"I... I saw Theo and Liam bringing a car full of food and supplies in here. There were at least six sleeping bags, okay?"

I look over at the two boys who were right next to me. 

"We need to do something." I whisper. 

"Like what?"

Theo looks over at me and then at Liam. "I'm sorry Liam." 

"For what?"

Theo grabs my waist and pulls me closer to him before pressing his lips against mine.
