|| Turn Out Like Stiles ||

"You ready?"

Liam walks into the living room, a huge smile on his face.

"How would I not be ready? It's Christmas! The first we've had in a while."

He presses a kiss to my temple before wrapping his arms around my waist, and we watch as the snow falls through the window. It's been lightly snowing all day, but it wasn't until now that the snow was beginning to stick.

"I'm going to go finish food."

I walk into the kitchen, pressing my hands against the counter for support as a sudden wave of dizziness hits me. It's been happening for a few days, and usually a headache follows. It's the change of climate that's doing it, so I've only had to get used to it since we moved here a few months ago.

"You okay?" Liam asks as he walks into the kitchen.

"I'm fine, why?"

"Chelsea, you seem off."

"I'm just a bit overwhelmed, that's all."

"You've always loved the holidays."

"I know, but things haven't been the same since-"

"Chelsea, we're way past the war."

"I know."

"It's been four years."

I look down. "I'm scared."

"Of what?"

"Liam, what's going to happen when we want to start a family? What if a new threat comes and our children are thrown into the middle of it all?"

"Then we'll jump right in and protect them, or we'll die fighting."

I sigh. "I just don't feel ready to start a family."

"That's okay. We can wait until you get past your residency and-"

"Shut up."

"What?"

"It's nothing."

I look down. Unless Liam is getting on my nerves after a really long day at work, I never tell him to shut up. I feel bad about it, and the look on his face doesn't make me feel any better.

"Chelsea. What's going on?"

"I'll tell you later, okay?"

"You're worrying me."

"I'm fine. Don't worry about it."

He nods.

"I'll tell you when everyone is gone."

"Oh?"

"Trust me, it's good."

The doorbell rings.

"I'll go get that."

I watch as he walks out of the kitchen, Hayden coming in only seconds later. She smiles the second she sees me, opening her arms up for a hug.

"How are you?"

"I'm good. It's been forever!"

She nods. "How are you and Liam?"

"We're good."

"I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to the wedding. I feel terrible."

Hayden pulls out of the hug, leaning against the counter.

"Relax, your sister was in the hospital. I would've missed my own wedding if it was Stiles in the hospital."

"The things we do for family."
