School went by in a blur, but all I could think about was what Dad said this morning.

Liam never took me to school. I always rode with someone else, but I don't remember who they were or what they looked like.

I can't figure out why.

"Chelsea!" Scott shouts, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What?"

"Back shots?" He asks. "Both of you need work."

I laugh. "I knew I did, but since when does Liam need help? He's practically a god out there."

"You've just saying that because you're my girlfriend." Liam says.

"Not true." I say as I kiss his cheek. "That's from the knowledge of the first time I saw you on this field."

"When Scott and this other kid asked me how I was so good?"

"Exactly."

"Who was the other guy?" Scott asks.

Liam just stares at the ground. "I- I don't know."

"Neither do I." I shrug. "He probably moved or something."

"But I would've remembered." Scott says. "It seems like I knew him."

The lights turn off.

"Guess we have to go now." I say sadly, but I'm actually happy about.

"No we don't." Scott says as he makes his eyes glow, which Liam and I do in return.

We stayed out there for hours, working on each and every one of the shots, laughing at each other when we tripped, or when I accidentally hit Scott when he wasn't paying attention.

When we finished, Liam threw me over his shoulders and ran towards his truck, and I just laughed the entire time.

Ever since I came back from the dead we've been spending more time with each other, like we're afraid it'll happen again.

It wouldn't shock me if that happened. I've had so many near-death experiences that I've lost count. There were several times when the alpha pack was here, again with the nogitsune, freshman year when the benefactor was out to kill us, and then last year, when I had died from mercury poisoning and again when I was prepared to die so I could give the person I care the most about a happy life with his best friend.

I was dead for a little over and hour, and when I came back, I was an alpha.

Deucalion said it was because I sacrificed myself for the greater good.

I thought it was luck.

"You dragged Mason into this?!"

"Liam, calm down." I say as I reach for his hand, but he pulls away.

"I didn't mean too!" Corey shouts. 

"This is my best friend! Chelsea already died once for him, I don't need him disappearing!"

"Liam!" Mason shouts. "It's because of his powers. He can see them and not be affected. I guess it works with whoever's holding his hand, too."

"I still don't like it."

"Well suck it up." I say angrily. "It's not his fault he got the powers, so how is he supposed to know what his abilities are? For the longest time we thought that the only thing he could do was disappear, not trying to sound rude."
