|| He Was Pathetic ||

"Brett? Incredibly hot Brett with the eight pack abs?" Mason asks.

I laugh quietly, trying not to give away my location. I was leaning against the wall in the hallway, waiting for them to leave the locker room so I can grab my things.

I plan on surprising them when they're all on the field.

"Pretty sure his name is just Brett." Liam says.

"He has an eight pack!"He scoffs. "Do you know how hard it is for the human body to have an eight pack? Wait, why is he helping you?"

"Chelsea's not coming back until tomorrow, and I couldn't get anyone else to volunteer."

"That's because none of them are going to make first line. No one does before junior year."

"Scott did, and so did I. Chelsea did when she played that one time."

"Hello? You guys have an advantage."

A locker slams shut.

"Thanks for the gear Liam, and the drills, and the chance, even if there really isn't one." I hear Aaron say.

"Unless you practice!" Mason says. "Like today. I've seen you guys out there, you can do it."

I hear footsteps and they all walk out onto the field, giving me a chance to slip into the locker room and grab my gear.

"Chelsea?"

"So much for a surprise." I mutter to myself before turning around.

"Aaron!"

"What are you doing here? I thought you moved!"

I laugh. "I went to visit Stiles, but I'm back now. Don't tell the team I'm back when you go out onto the field."

He nods and runs off, leaving me alone to grab my gear. When I'm done and walking out, Aaron turns the corner.

"I forgot my helmet."

I nod and walk off, heading towards the field.

Brett is the first to notice. Liam was too busy trying to get some of the freshman to cooperate on a position.

"You're back! I thought you were coming back this weekend?" Brett asks as he jogs over to me.

"Stiles had class to get too. Besides, I needed to come back for registration."

"That's right! You're a senior. How's it feel?"

"Great! I'm nervous though."

"Why?"

"Because tomorrow is my last first day of school. That and the fact I'm worried none of the colleges I want to go to will accept me."

"They will, trust me."

"So what are you going to do?" I ask. "You're a senior too! What's your plans for when you graduate?"

"I'm staying in Beacon Hills. I refuse to leave Lori behind."

I nod. "It makes sense."

"Chelsea?"

I look up and see Liam staring at me.

"Surprise?"

He smiles and runs towards me, picking me up and spinning me around in the process.

"You're back!"

He sets me down and I smile at him.

"I missed you." I whisper as I grab his hand.

"I missed you more."
