I feel myself wince as Ethan screams in pain. 

"Take a good look. We keep that current of electricity coursing through him because otherwise he'd rip through his bindings."

"You keep that current of electricity coursing through him because you're scared." I growl. 

Monroe looks over at me and smirks before turning back towards Ethan. 

"He'd break free and kill us."

"I'd start with you." Ethan screams in pain again, only making Monroe's smirk even larger. 

"The people who came before us used arrows and crossbows to fight them. This is all they had to protect themselves, a sliver of wood, while they have claws that can cut into bone and fangs that can rip your throat out."

"Arrows can do a lot more than you think." I mutter, but Monroe spins around and stares at me. 

"What was that?"

"I said, arrows can do a lot more than you think."

"And you know this from personal experience?"

"I do actually." I stand up from where I was, making her eyes widen. "I know because Gerard turned his own granddaughter, a woman who was very powerful with a bow and arrow, against her own pack, nearly killing us. Did you know I was human when all of that happened? I know what can happen when a werewolf is shot with an arrow in a particular place because of her, and it is not pretty."

"The kanima venom-"

"Relax, I'm not going to do anything." I roll my eyes. "All you ever think is that we're going to hurt you. News flash, not everyone are killers."

She raises an eyebrow. "Oh really?"

"No. You know why I'm not going to do anything?"

"Why?"

"Because of that." I point at Ethan. "As long as you pose a threat over the ones I love I'm not going to do anything."

"Oh really? You afraid?"

"So what if I am? You guys nearly killed my family!"

"They are supernatural!"

"Not all of them!"

The small crowd that had formed in the room had gasped. 

"The woman who treats me like her own isn't a supernatural creature, yet you shot up her house and nearly got her killed!"

"That's because there-"

"There were supernatural creatures in there? So what? You don't have to kill innocent people!"

"As long as they support the supernatural they aren't innocent!"

"That's what you believe?"

"It's what makes sense." She reaches for something on a shelf. "Now I suggest you take a step back before I inject you with more kanima venom."

I do as she says, watching from behind as she takes a step towards Sydney. 

"You've experienced the supernatural up close, right?"

Sydney nods. "It was a lacrosse game. We were hiding in the library."

"That's what I did, until I got tired of hiding. I decided that it was their turn to be afraid."

She turns around and stabs Ethan with the arrow, and I take a step towards him before stopping, knowing they'll most likely be consequences.

"It's their turn! Their turn to hide!"
