You sit on the couch in the living room, completely enthralled in your favorite book. Even though you've read it so many times, it still seems to capture your full attention as you sink into the fantasy world.

Suddenly, a tap on the shoulder breaks your concentration from the words on the paper. You turn, ready to murder the person who so rudely interrupted you while reading, but it turns out to be Nat.

"Hey Y/N, do you want to come to a club tonight? Everyone's coming and Tony is paying, although he doesn't know that yet," she asked you.

You smile at her. "Nah, I'm good. I'm pretty beat after Cap's training session this afternoon. Just gonna finish this book, maybe watch a movie, before heading to bed."

"OK, I'll tell everyone," she says. "Don't have too much fun without me!"

"I wouldn't dream of it," you smirk back.

She then leaves you alone once more. Honestly, this is the best thing you could have wished for. Finally being alone! Who wants to go to a club anyway? You think. If I wanted a drink, I'd just take some from Tony's secret stash.

Returning to your book, you read a few more chapters, but it seems to have lost it's appeal. Rising from the couch, you return to your room and place the book on the bed. Flopping down beside it, you roll over and face the ceiling. It seems so quiet in the tower! Usually the entire place is buzzing with noise and you can barely relax after a long day without earplugs. But surprisingly, once being left alone for the first time, relaxing is the last thing on your mind.

Rolling off the bed, you walk over the your closet. Opening it up, you push past the training gear, black jeans, and a couple tee-shirts with Cap's face on them, before you find it. Shoved way in the back is your old prom dress. You don't even know why you kept it, seeing as you only wear gear most of the time.

Pulling out the dress, you brush away some wrinkles. It's long, flowy, and midnight black in color. Excitedly, you take off the clothes you are wearing, before pulling it on.

It still fits perfectly! You think as you reach back to zip it up and.....the zipper becomes stuck. Dammit.

Even though your entire back is visible, you waltz out to the training room. "Jarvis, put on some music please."

"Right away, miss."

Soon, Imagine Dragons is blaring in through the built-in speakers. You lift up the skirt and start dancing. Because you are alone, you don't bother doing some sort of fancy dance, but instead free-style it across the floor. Laughing, you twirl faster, feeling your dress spread out around you. You feel free and light as a feather.

Bucky's POV

I sigh, watching my frozen dinner spin around in the microwave. I had declined Nat's offer of going to a club. Because of my metal arm, I still felt uncomfortable in public. Everyone treats me different because of it. That is...everyone except Y/N. She simply treats it as a part of me, even offering to paint Cap's shield over the red star.

She really is wonderful, I thought, smiling. Maybe one day, I'll get the courage to...

My thoughts are interrupted by the beeping to indicate my dinner is ready. Without thinking, I spin around and slam my arm through the microwave.

"Oh no," I groan, looking at the smoking machine. "Tony's gonna kill me."

Having ruined my dinner, I decide to train instead. Walking towards the training room, I hear faint music. Did someone break into the tower? I wonder, immediately going into spy mode. I know that the entire team has gone out.

Reaching the door, I pull it open silently. Walking into the room, I recognize the music. Imagine Dragons, that's one of Y/N's favorites, I think. No, Stop! Concentrate.

About to try and take down the person who was causing this, I am suddenly rendered immobile by the sight before me. Y/N, the girl I have never seen in anything other than gear, was dancing in a black dress. As she was spinning around, I see that the entire back of the dress is open, giving me a clear view of, well, her back. My mouth suddenly becomes dry.

She spins closer and closing, not looking where she is going. Noticing that I am in her path, I try to step out of the way, but it's too late.

Y/N's POV

Still spinning, you suddenly slam into a hard surface. Opening your eyes, you gasp, as a metal arm is in your vision. Looking up into the eyes of your favorite super soldier, (sorry Steve), you blush, very aware of the close proximity of you two and the wide open back of your dress.

"Hello," Bucky says in a low and husky voice.

You clear your throat. "I though everyone had gone to the club, so I decided to, uh, dance."

"I see," said Bucky.

The music from Cinderella suddenly breaks through the tension. Jarvis...

You hold out your hand towards Bucky. "Do you want to dance?"

He looks at your hand for two seconds before a smile breaks out onto his face. "I'd love to," he answers you, placing his large hand into your tiny one.

Pulling him onto the training room floor, you pick up your skirt. He hesitates. You smile and gently direct his hand to your back. He lets out a sharp breath as his hand touches your bare skin. Grabbing his metal hand with your hand, both of you start moving in sync to the music. It is better than you could have ever dreamed.

The music fades in a decrescendo and then stop completely, but you stay in each other's arms. As if pulled by an invisible force, you both lean towards one another. Hesitating a couple inches from your lips, Bucky looks into your eyes. Melting when you see the question in his eyes, you are the one to answer, closing the gap. He melts into the kiss, soft at first and then growing rough. It feels as if you are flying as you both pour your feeling for one another into that kiss.

Breaking apart for air, you smirk at Bucky. "I should start dancing alone more often."

He smiles back at you. "Just remember to invite me, ok?"

"Ok," you respond breathlessly, before going in for another kiss.

Hope y'all enjoyed! This is one of my personal daydreams and the prom dress is a true story. I can't zip it up. Also, I did break the microwave during Christmas. Not with my metal hand, but there is a weird electric smell and the plate won't spin. Oh well, see you next imagine!
