Note: Bella comes in November of her junior year instead of March in this book. Hope everyone enjoys!
Callie's POV
The car ride back to the house was pretty boring. Riding in a car is nothing compared to riding on a broom. Oh how I missed the air blowing through my hair. I couldn't do magic here. I still have the trace on me and even though I didn't care if the ministry knew about my whereabouts, I didn't want to get expelled from Hogwarts.
We pulled up to a white, charming house, one I would have loved to grown up in.
I jump out of the car and walk to the back trunk thing, waiting for Charlie.
It's raining a little, more like sprinkling. It reminds me of home.
"You like the rain?"
He asks as he pulls the back compartment open and pulls out my trunk.
I shut it for him and start to follow him towards the house.
"I love the rain."
He smiles and reaches in his pocket for his keys, balancing the trunk on his hip.
When we walk in the front door, a small entryway is revealed. Pictures are hanging on the walls, some of a dog, others of a lanky, pale girl. That must be Bella.
I was a bit nervous to meet her, but not much.
"So Bella's room is upstairs but I have had a lot of time to renovate your room. It's upstairs in the attic."
I raised an eyebrow. I had a room? An actual room. I feel a warm feeling in my chest.
I don't know what to say, so I start to linger down the hall, observing everything.
Bella is all over the place. You can tell the man really loves his daughter.
"I'm sorry I don't have many pictures of you, but I do have one."
Charlie says and walks into what looks to be the living room.
He comes back out with a shy smile, holding a small wooden picture frame.
He hands it to me, his hands lingering so that I can't drop it.
I look down at the faded picture of a red headed girl holding a small baby.
I raise an eyebrow at Charlie, and he starts to explain.
"Lily sent me a picture of you with the letter. The only one I have ever had."
I nod and look back down at the picture.
"So, I am gonna go put your stuff upstairs. Feel free to linger."
Charlie says as he walks back to my trunk and carries it up the stairs.
I walk down the small hallway, setting the picture down on a hall table.
At the end of the hallway is a small kitchen with yellow cabinets, making for a bright environment.
Then, I walk through the living room. A fireplace is displayed in the middle and more pictures of Bella clutter the mantle.
I can't help but smile at one of her with no front teeth.
"Your stuff is upstairs. If you want, you can unpack a bit. When Bella comes next week, she'll start school but Dumbledore explained that you will return to school in February."
I was almost done with my schooling anyways.
"Yes. He asked if I wanted to graduate before coming here but I want to drag it on a bit. I don't think I am ready to be a graduate yet."
I say with a laugh.
Charlie chuckles and sits down on the couch.
"Maybe I will start unpacking tomorrow. I've always wanted to watch a muggle movie."
I say and look towards the TV.
"Oh! I can go in my room if you want to watch TV in here!"
Charlie starts to get up and I can't help but laugh.
"Charlie, I meant the two of us. You know, we could watch a movie together."
"Really?"
He asks, sounding genuinely surprised.
"Do muggles not do that? I don't want to be rude."
I start to day and he shakes his head.
"No no. I just- a movie night sounds great."
We say nothing more on the matter and turn on the TV.
We settle on watching this movie called Wolf-man. The movie was terribly inaccurate and Charlie asked questions the whole time, which only added to the fun.
Overall, I think I was gonna like coming to stay at Charlie's.
