Callie's POV
Albus Dumbledore is a mysterious man. Some find him quite annoying at times and I, well, I don't blame them.
"You cannot be serious." I groan as a slump down on a couch in his humongous office.
"Serious? No, darling. I am Dumbledore. Did you hit your head a little too hard last week?' He says with a chuckle, which I ignore.
"Grandfather. I do not see the need to allow the Cullen's to come to Hogwarts."
He strokes his beard. At first, he thought I would be happy about this, but Snape quickly informed him that I had sent out a breakup letter to Jasper the day after the incident in the Owlery. Grandpa didn't seem shocked, I think the old man knew all along.
"It is not a need Caroline. It's a want. Ivy wants Alice to be here for the games and the Cullens all want to learn more about this world. I will remind you that Jasper Hale is your mate and although the Diggory boy is nice, I believe he is simply a phase."
Snape rolls his eyes from the corner of the room. Over the past week, we have gotten quite close, but we hid it from everyone but Dumbledore.
" I agree with Callie, Why should we have to deal with the nasty bloodsuckers? Albus, are you going to invite Shapeshifters into the castle again next?"
"What do you mean again? What did I miss during my holiday?"
Snape looks over to Dumbledore,
"You haven't told the child about Lupin?" He sounds astonished.
"Remus Lupin is a shapeshifter!" I shriek in disbelief. "Bloody hell."
"Werewolf." Grandpa conforms, taking the seat behind his desk.
"When will our so honored guests be arriving?" I say sarcastically, but slightly curious.
"Well, it seems they are already seated at the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw tables in the Great Hall, awaiting the feast I must start before the names are picked for the games."
Snape and I both groan at the thought of eating with vampires.
"What are they going to eat?" I ask, a little concerned, I know Jasper's control is not perfect yet.
"Isn't it obvious?" He asks, Snape and I wait for a second, "Slytherin, of course!'
"Excu-" Snape starts and I burst into a fit of laughter.
"Actually, I had some of the staff collect blood from some creators in the forbidden forest."
We both ah,
"They must love their jobs." I smirk. Grandpa cannot stop himself from laughing. Then he stands and walks towards the door.
"When you two feel like you can stomach the presence of our guests, please feel free to join us. I will be announcing the names soon."
He then disappears in his Dumbledore fashion. I roll my eyes and look to Snape.
"I'm hungry. I will meet you in there." I get up and walk over to the door but Snape's voice stops me,
"Did you put your name in the goblet?" He asks, so quiet I almost don't hear him.
"Are you bonkers? Of course I did. Although I think the games are childish, I cannot leave Ivy alone in it."
He hms and nods. With that, I walk out the door and to the Great Hall.
I walk through the doors to see the Cullens are all sitting by Ivy at the Gryffindor table. Some must have moved. Even the parents are there. Alice looks up to see me and waves excitedly. The rest of them smile, even Jasper, although I can tell his is forced. I am about to walk over there when I am confronted by none other than Draco Malfoy and his goons. He pushes me back and I look to see Alice and Edward holding Jasper to his seat.
"Swan, so nice to see you." He sneers. I look to see Harry standing up from his seat and walking over. "Or should I call you Evans?"
I cannot help but look at him with horror. How does he know? Only a few people know and I did not want the son of a death eater to be one of them. Harry finally makes his way over to us and pushes Malfoy aside,
"Don't touch her." He says roughly getting in Malfoy's face.
I look to see Ginny eyeing us carefully, probably making sure my brother doesn't get his arse kicked.
"What are you going to do about it, Potter?"
Harry looks like he is going to say something but I stop him.
"Forget him, Harry. He's not worth the trouble. He and his family will surely all be locked up soon anyways. I hear they are reserving a room for Lucious."
Malfoy rolls his eyes and says his famous catch phrase,
"Wait till I tell my father about this." Then walks over to the Slytherin table.
Harry and I both roll our eyes at the same time and I can see Ginny looking at us curiously.
"What was that?" Harry turns to me but gestures towards Malfoy.
I shrug.
"You know him, he always has to say something."
I begin to walk towards the table with Harry in tow.
All of a sudden, I feel an arm grab mine and turn to see my blonde headed best friend.
Ivy is dressed in her nicest Gryffindor robe, hoer hair thrown up in a neat top knot. I smile at the way she spent extra time with her appearance when Alice was around.
"Do I look okay, mate?" She whispers, making sure Alice isn't looking our way.
"As amazing as always, V." I see her cheeks redden as I call her by an old nickname,
"Well, here I go." She starts to walk towards the table but looks back at me halfway. I give her a quick thumbs up, and go to sit at a random spot of the table.
I feel as if I should keep my distance from Jasper at the moment. I look to see he has deflated because of my decision to not join the others.
I sit alone in silence for a moment then feel someone sit down next to me.
"What lovely hair you have. Is it naturally so bright?" A small and fragile voice asks from my right.
I look up to see a small girl with a tangle of blonde curly hair. She looks at me and smiles, a carefree smile like one I have never seen before.
"Uh, yeah." I answer, smiling back at her. Her smile was almost contagious, I felt as if I must return it."What is your name again? I don't think I have seen you around."
I try to picture her from one of my past classes but I keep drawing blanks.
"Oh! I wouldn't be in one of your classes! I am a couple grades under you and I know you're in the advance classes. I'm Luna, Luna Lovegood."
I raise an eyebrow. Strange name.
"It's nice to meet you, Luna. I-"
"I already know you, the infamous Callie Swan. How could I not know the smartest girl in all of Hogwarts?"
I can't help but smile at that.
"Well, Luna, I think we are going to get alone quite splendidly."
She smiles and claps her hands. She reminds me of Alice in some ways, so happy and carefree in the midst of eternal doom.
"Callie Swan, I believe you are correct."
